Iowa Football Recruiting

Parker doesn't. He's stubborn like Kirk. Not sure if Brian does. I would probably say no though since he was one of the worst OC's in the country last year

Iowa’s bad team with bad coaches won 10 games and ended the season ranked in the top 20. While according to clone fans here, isu was a better team with better coaches but finished 7-6 and unranked.

Why would anyone laugh at clone fans for that “middle school drop out” logic?

CyTwins has his bone for the next few months. I expect to see another 4,000-7,000 posts about how much better Hall is than Goodson only to see the Hawks win again in September.
Iowa beating Iowa State does not mean Goodson is better than Hall lol. The two do not go hand in hand together. Both were freshman last year and were trying to figure out what type of player they were going to be for their respective teams. We don't know who's going to end up being the better running back because things can change, but your argument that Goodson is better than Hall at this point is completely opinionated and backed up by cherry picked stats. The national media were pretty much unanimous in calling Breece Hall the best freshman RB as well as one of the overall best freshman in all of CFB last year.

Tyler Goodson stats with his longest run of the game taken out

Miami OH - 8 for 28 yards (3.5 ypc) *Terrible D
Rutgers - 9 for 34 yards (3.7) *Terrible D
ISU - 2 for 2 yards (1.0)
MTSU - 11 for 70 yards (6.36) *Terrible D
Michigan - 5 for 10 yards (2.0)
PSU - 7 for 6 yards (0.84)
Purdue - 4 for 3 yards (0.75)
Nortwestern - 10 for 46 yards (4.6) *Terrible D
Wisconsin - 4 for 5 yards (1.25)
Minnesota - 12 for 68 (5.66)
Illinois - 20 for 28 yards (1.4)
Neb - 12 for 61 (5.1) *Terrible D
USC - 17 for 39 (2.2)

The story I am trying to tell is that Goodson has a high variance in the outcome of his runs. I would like to see the standard deviation of his season; however, I am not going to waste that much time.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN TO HOKS WHO DROPPED OUT OF MIDDLE SCHOOL??? This means that Goodson is a boom or bust type of back, not a workhorse that you think of when you think Ferentz brand of football. He was pretty bad against good defense, besides Minnesota. He had about one play a game where the line clicked and he had a big gain.

No, he is not near as good as breece hall.

Wow, if you take away a player’s longest runs, his yards per carry goes down? That’s crazy! Also, LOL at calling Northwestern a terrible D.

Goodson is better IMO. IIRC, Hall averaged 3.1 yards per carry against good defenses, and Goodson averaged over 5 yards per carry. Goodson has way quicker feet than Hall and is bigger and stronger. Both are good backs though.
Wow. What a blatant cherry pick of stats lol

It’s a silly discussion for now. Hall and Goodson were both good.

Hall is really good and is probably Campbell’s next NFL back with his size, speed & power.

We’ll see if Goodson is that good, or if he’s just a really good college player like Wadley.

Link to what? You’re capable of going to the SP+ website and doing math, aren’t you?

When I go to SP+ I only see team rankings not defensive rankings. Football outsiders shows the 2018 defensive rankings but not the 2019 one so yes I'm asking you for a link. Due to the fact I've asked multiple times and you won't provide it is making me question your already questionable credibility

Breece Ball is a better RB, in every category, than Goodson. That's not a slight towards Goodson. Hall is just that good. Before last season even began, Campbell said that Hall will be the best RB to ever play at ISU (insider info). That's incredibly high praise, especially when you consider who he just replaced and that other Troy Davis guy.

Good time to bring this up again

Let's compare the two's accolades

Breece Hall:

First-Team True Freshman All-American – 247Sports (2019)
First-Team All-Freshman Team – PFF (2019)
Second-Team Freshman All-American – The Athletic (2019)
Second-Team All-Big 12 - Coaches (2019)

Tyler Goodson:

Anybody who thinks Goodson is anywhere near as good as Hall is just play delusional or knows absolutely nothing about football. I hope this whole thing is just a really bad troll. I know the TOE fans aren't very smart but this might be a new low.

I hope Iowa State fans are smart enough to realize we can't give a 'sheet' which running back has better stats if his team can't win against TOE.... who has inferior RBs WRs and a coaching staff.

Because you apparently thought Warren was better than Daniels and Wadley based off the stats he racked up against terrible defenses. Now you are claiming Breece Hall is better than Goodson based off the stats he racked up against terrible defenses. I’ve already showed you how much better Goodson did against good defenses. You can claim Goodson had a good OL and Hall didn’t, and that’s fair. But sorry I’m not impressed by Hall lighting up the terrible defenses he faced and barely managing to crack 3 yards per carry against the good defenses.

Iowa State faced 4 top 30 defenses last year. Iowa faced 3. Next!

My point was and continues to be if isu was so much better than Iowa they would have won more games than 7. Does it really make clone fans feel better if they believe they are better at certain positions but overall still a 7-6 team?

LOL yeah, because his word has been credible. That 2018 OL was the best he's ever seen too.
