Iowa Football Recruiting

He will be a stud when he produces like a stud.

Wait a second.... so what you're saying then...... is that whatever Iowa's current recruiting class is ranked compared to ISU's is meaningless then, right? I mean until they produce on the field like studs, am I right?

Just trying to understand if you're being consistent here or not??

Ir you don’t understand the difference between recruits that are still in high school vs players already in school and on the team then I can’t help you.

Let’s look at the context of the discussion. I believe there was an attempt to rank skill position players at the schools. Someone ranked the young WR from ISU even though he hasn’t produced. Now, if you’d like to produce a list of future stars, maybe he is on that one.

The top 2 skill players are Hall and Kolar. That's not debatable. The real debate begins at #3 when you go to the second tier of Milton, ISM, Shaw and Goodson

but wait, didn’t you just say “we’ll wait and see” when asked why the lower rated Will McDonald has performed at a far more superior level in college than higher rated John Waggoner?

So which is it.. wait and see how they pan out? Or they’re rated higher so they’re automatically better? Or is it just whichever happens to fit your narrative for each individual instance?

Here is what I know. According to isu fans on this site, 247 is the only credible recruiting service in the history of recruiting. It appears to me that they evaluate high school players on both a national basis and by position. Now I am just spitballing here but my guess is that they do this so you or anyone for that matter can compare players and recruiting classes in totality. I could be wrong and I am sure clone fans will tell me I am but right now Iowa has higher ranked players and a higher ranked class than isu. Personally I don’t really care but it sure does drive clone fans batty. I mean 38,000 posts over the last four plus years. That level of devotion is truly admirable.

Here is what else I know., I know that for the most part players can play college football a max of 4 full seasons and one with 4 games. Now if clone fans want to claim they have better players than Iowa without the full results of their college careers, hey knock yourself out. Assert to the world you have achieved a total and complete victory over me if you like. You know something that really puts me in my place. A true “gotcha moment”.

The reality is that I come here to see just how far isu fans will go in order to feel better about how they compare to Iowa. So far you all have yet to disappoint. We will see what tomorrow brings.

Kudos to you clone fans, kudos indeed.

and I bet if we removed you and other Iowa fans that number would easily be under 20,000.

Every page in this thread has 4-5 hawk fans commenting on it. I have never once gone to an Iowa board (I don’t even know what Iowa’s board is called) and I’m willing to bet you won’t see as many ISU fans on the Iowa boards as there are Iowa fans on CF but it seems like Iowa fans live on CF just as much as ISU fans do.

either way, the mental gymnastics Iowa fans display and their ability to continually move the goalposts to whatever narrative fits their agenda is truly remarkable and something that’s as predicable as death, taxes and Texas never being back

If you really believe clone fans don’t do exactly what you are accusing Iowa fans of in this thread then you simply are not reading.

I don’t believe for one second that Hawk fans would post here if clone fans didn’t have a forum where they want to “poke the bear”. You are right that clone fans haven’t been posting on Iowa boards recently. With Iowa winning 5 in a row in Football, 55 of 59 in Wrestling, 4 in a row in WBB and 3 of the last 4 in MBB I am not sure what clone fans would really want to talk about on an Iowa board. We know as soon as isu wins in football there will be a flood of clone fans on Iowa boards claiming that isu is taking over. How much better CMC is than KF and on and on. isu has lost 5 in a row and you guys make the same claims here regardless.

So you think after we beat you this year badly in football we are going to go post on TOE message boards?

Not only have ISU fans not been posting on Iowa’s boards recently, we’ve never posted on Iowa boards as often as Iowa fans post to CF.

Yourself and other Iowa fans on here continually put up posts confirming most of you suffer from a superiority complex and it’s cute, because it’s all too predictable.

I get it, you come to CF because Iowa has a boring brand of football with a coach that has averaged 7 wins a year in his career at Iowa and you’re curious what ISU and one of the hottest coaching names in college football are up to, I don’t blame you. But to come here trying to rub it in our face that we’ve been bad at football for forever, isn’t a surprise to any ISU fan, we understand this and embrace it. We’re also optimistic because we finally have a coach who wants to be at ISU and who has lead us winning seasons, to multiple bowl games, and has had multiple victories over top 5 teams.

But don’t try to continually move the goalposts when you get called out for your asinine antics. Accept the fact that maybe juuuust MAYBE, this isn’t your dad’s ISU and that we finally has some All American caliber players on our roster for once

The reality is that if you don’t want Iowa fans to post here then don’t encourage it by having a forum set up to “poke the bear.”. Or is the argument that clone fans only want to have threads about Iowa as long as Iowa fans don’t participate?

Iowa and Hawk fans have nothing to fear from a coach that averages 5 wins a year. Does that really qualify for one of the “hottest coach in the country” tags?

With douche canoe media folks like Rob Howe and Pat Harty, why would anyone every want to post on a Hawk site. They don't like something you write about Iowa or mention the Hawks in a negative way.... you get banned or block you on twitter (see the Hawkfanatic thread on that.) Ask Gary Dolphin about censorship. Pretty much sums up Iowa athletic media folks or should I say Iowa atheltic media "censors".

Your math is a bit off.. Campbell actually has averaged 6.5 wins at Iowa State, 7.5 in all seasons as a head coach. Ferentz in his totality as the head coach at Iowa averages 7.7 wins per year.

Campbell has obviously only been the head coach here for 4 years, so if you were to only look at Ferentz's first 4 years, his average would've been 5.5 wins per year.

This wasn't to show which coach is better, just to prove your argument of Campbell's win percentage is entirely stupid.
