Iowa Football Recruiting

Lol, I’m not trolling at all. He has below average arm strength for a P5 QB. He’s a 3.5 or 4 out of 10. The opinion of an Internet homer doesn’t change that. Thinking that he is a 7/10 is complete lunacy.
You once said you didnt watch ISU football but looked at drive charts to push your opinion.

“Purdy is one of the quarterbacks in the 2021 NFL Draft class who I question if they meet that baseline threshold. Arm strength is something that can be developed as a quarterback ages and progresses, so one should not close the book on this one just yet. However, it is definitely something to watch for as the season moves along. I want to see Purdy consistently put zip on the ball, especially on throws outside the numbers. I don’t think scouts have seen that yet, but they need to in order to feel confident in Purdy.“

“McShay sees plenty of promise in Purdy, even though the quarterback is just 6-foot-1 and has yet to really showcase a lot of arm strength. But McShay said both of those things may not matter since the NFL has started seeing more and more shorter quarterbacks get chances to play.

As for the arm strength, McShay said that can come down the road.

“I think being a little bit more patient in the pocket and then I think the arm strength is very much overrated," McShay said, "but you need to have a certain bar to fit and it would be good to see more consistency throwing the deep ball and those kinds of throws.”
McShay alert!

Another tough week for clone fans. Purdy isn’t as awesome as they think he is and a football expert says isu’s OL is suspect and they have “limited weaponry”.

At no point does the article state he has below average arm strength. It says that he needs to develop in that area and I would agree.

Ok you got me, I can’t find an article that says word for word “Brock Purdy has below average arm strength.” But I can find a bunch of them that say he doesn’t have a very strong arm, that his lack of arm strength is potentially concerning, etc. I guess if you want to bury your head in the sand and pretend that somehow equates to a 7/10 on the arm strength scale, I am not going to stand in your way.

What's your old username or are you assuming people will bury their head in the sand and believe you when you say it's your first?

You said Nate Stanley was more talented than Brock Purdy. Lol stop it

He has an above average arm for a college QB. The knock against his arm is strength at the NFL level. And really, they're saying they want to see more of him using arm strength in certain throws. His arm is sufficient for the NFL, but in order for him to be drafted higher, he needs to show out.

They also want to see Purdy step up in big games and deliver. Unlike how he played against K-State and ND. That might be tough to do with isu’s “suspect line” and “limited weaponry”.

Stay focused. I'm talking about his arm.
