Iowa Football Recruiting

I did just join. This isn’t hard all you have to do is read page one. You don’t have to read all posts on all 1,800+ pages to know what clone fans were or are thinking. That’s the beauty of this thread the same things clone fans were writing about 4 years ago keep coming back up. All despite the fact that the Iowa program has been better than isu since this thread started.

Hats off to isu fans for having a forum to “poke the bear” only to get really pissy when the bear wakes up and smacks them around.

Lol and the name finally pays off.....

It does not mean only those two things. They offered cause they initially wanted them then moved on. Happens all the time. You know, the exact thing you think happened with Brock except Iowa still wanted him in reality

I want to make sure I have this right, isu initially offered recruits ranked higher than anyone they have committed and then made the conscience decision to pass on them for kids ranked hundreds of spots lower?

This is something you believe should be hailed as a tremendous recruiting strategy? By George I think you and I completely agree on something. We both have 100% comfort with how isu recruits.

Explain the offer thing to me then. I think either 10 or 11 of Iowa's commitments have ISU offers. Do these kids get evaluated, offered, then Campbell changes his mind? He must like something about them and think they have the right attitude and talent at some point right?
you can't know everything about every recruit before you offer them. It's just not feasible. Lots of schools do this. They offer a kid who on paper fits, but the more they get to know them, they realize they aren't exactly what we are looking for. No problem, doesn't make them bad people, just not the right fit. This is what good programs do.

way to keep your chin up and stay positive. Think Campbell will treat it like a real game instead of a scrimmage finally?
I hope so. Although, I would much rather make it to the Big 12 title game to be honest. I think that happens this year. Beating the TOE is just icing on the cake to shut you guys up.

Not one single person believes this for a second lol

You lost a recruit with a Penn State offer today. Are you just finding out about this?

Is an isu fan really bashing Penn State football recruiting? Curious how many times in isu’s history have you finished above PSU in football recruiting?

Often times you offer kids as freshman and sophomores with the projection of what they will be between their JR and SR season when they are actually committing. Sometimes they don’t meet your projection. Hard to believe I know.

So taking a high and mighty attitude is a ok as long as we limit the time frame? Say that out loud a few times and see if it still makes sense.
The two aren't anywhere near the same, no matter how hard you try. And where, besides sports forums did he catch crap? I think Facebook was in it's infancy at the time. You gotta prove that this is an apples to apples example.

Ok. That all makes sense. Also, I think sometimes the recruit just tells them to move on because there is no mutual interest. I think people on message boards (all of us) that claim to have an insight about each individual recruit and how it has played out are full of crap 99% of the time. I doubt Matt Campbell or any coach or recruiter is going to share with people that a recruit told them to get lost or totally blew them off and vice versa.

I want to make sure I have this right. The isu coaches offered Colby, Liddle and Bowie as freshmen and sophomores only to realize they won’t pan out as jr’s and sr’s?

Is it all the NFL draft picks, national award winners, All-Americans and first team All-conference players that CMC and staff have had that lead you to believe they can evaluate and project players better than any of the other schools that offered Colby, Liddle and Bowie?

Wow again

This is probably true but takes a bunch of trolling opportunities away from many posters here if they admitted that.

seen it this morning. I'm sure we wanted him and who knows , maybe we still end up with him. We'll be fine either way. Actually made our average recruit rating go up. With the Hawks recent track record of putting DBs into the NFL I'm sure another kid will be happy to take his spot.

Wrong. Some of us have contacts inside of the AD that give us info on certain recruits. Not all the time, but it happens.

I'm sure you'll replace him with another kid with his offer list. Lol cmon
