Iowa Football Recruiting

Keegan Johnson dropping bombs on Nebraska: https://www.omaha.com/sports/high-s...cle_e023b0fb-403c-52f5-afbe-28d14177fe94.html

Keagan got the Husker offer and visited NU several times. Ultimately, he preferred Iowa.

"At the end of the day times have changed. No knock on Nebraska's program but it's not the same as when (Clester) played," Keagan said. "He's always been open-minded, and I am blessed that I can start my own legacy and I don't have to follow his footsteps. He has always preached that to me."

WOW, he is gonna be a fan favorite!

Clester??? What a truly horrible name.

I would give credit to the people who actually recruit the players vs a guy that can't recruit players but I'm weird like that lol
Man, it's weird you'd jump all aboard the nepotism train regarding a position that apparently doesn't do anything. Sounds like Kirk should have just saved a few thousand and stuck one of his grandchildren there.

Yea because Iowa and Iowa State are teams that can pass on four star .9571 rated kids...
That was a pretty stupid comment Gonzo

You must've missed the part where I said I hope we land him. I just don't think we will, and if we don't, it won't hurt that bad because of the crazy level of young talent we have at TE between LaPorta, Miamen, Yelverton, and Lachey.

I think Yelverton is going to see the field this year. The kid is an amazing talent. His offer list was ridiculous.

I mean if you're saying it's worse with Brian I won't disagree. Wait until he gets the HC job when he isn't even qualified for it

Lachey - Iowa State, LSU, Wisconsin, MSU, WV, Minn, GT, Indiana

Yelverton - Iowa State, LSU, Michigan, Georgia, Florida, Auburn, Penn St., Nebraska, Oregon, MSU, Ol Miss, ASU, Louisville, KSU, Arkansas, Utah, Vandy, Texas Tech, TCU, Rutgers, Purdue, KU, Colorado, BC.... I think that's it.

Miamen - Michigan, Penn State, Wisconsin, Notre Dame, MSU, NW, Purdue, Vandy, Illinois

That is quite the list of offers for the younger tight ends. Very impressed with LaPorta to be ahead of all of the higher rated guys right now.

Did Iowa lose all of their TE's from last year or are any of them coming back? I don't remember seeing anything about any of those guys last year. And yes I understand you lost 2 early to the draft so that's part of why you must have been bad at the position last year.
