Iowa Football Recruiting

Big10 QB's are really good, Purdy isn't even Honorable mention all Big10.

QBR:

Justin Fields 92.1
Tanner Morgan 84.2
Jack Coan 82
Payton Ramsey 80.2
Sean Clifford 76.8
Shea Patterson 71.3
Brock Purdy 71.2

Where is Stanley? He was HM All Big Ten

Kind of like why Purdy couldn't beat out Kempt at all (only by injury) and Zed Nolan until midseason. Sometimes it take Fr. awhile to get the offense down.

That's nothing like him telling me 3 completely different things about someone's playing time

In the last few days you've told me:

1. He is a good blocker and was exclusively a blocking TE the first half of the season

2. He barely played the first half of the season

3. He only played 6 games

What is happening here?

I meant to say he essentially only played six games, but forgot to put that qualifier in. That’s my fault. He didn’t play that much the first half of the season because he was still learning the playbook, so he was used solely as a blocking TE. Iowa didn’t use that position much last year because they had good wide receivers - that doesn’t mean LaPorta wasn’t an effective blocker when he did play. As he gained familiarity with the playbook, he began to see his role in the offense expand. Not uncommon for a true freshman (one need look no further than his fellow true freshman teammate, Tyler Goodson). By the end of the season, he had a good enough season that he would have easily made HM All-Big XII as a TE. Not that difficult to understand.

I know I have tried to explain it to you about 10 times. He was a Fr. just on campus, it takes time as Purdy knows. Even a horrible QB like Zed Nolan was in front of him for half a season.

He just admitted he was wrong. You're so bad at the. Pick and choose your battles man

Your TE room was so bad this year I could have got snaps and he barely played

Not true at all lol. You can be more talented as a freshmen than the people above you, but if you don’t know the plays/playbook cause you’re new, how can they play you. Don’t be dumb.”

Wasn't LaPorta an early enrollee?

I get your point, but don’t pretend a freshman TE learning a new playbook is remotely close to a freshman QB.

It’s not the same, but it is similar to a lesser degree. Iowa asks a lot of its tight ends. The fact that LaPorta didn’t play that much until later in the season isn’t an indictment on his abilities, it’s the simple reality that it’s hard to play TE at Iowa as a true freshman - especially for someone who didn’t even play the position in high school.

Sounds like Keagan Johnson and still possibly Skyler Bell at WR this month.

One of Joe Alt or Myslinki to finish off at OL. Alt wants to take more visits. Not sure if there will be a spot for him if Myslinki jumps on board.

Going after Austin Booker and Jeremiah Pittman on the DL. Would like to get 1 of these guys

Fidone is a coin toss Between Iowa and Nebraska right now.

Things looking decent with Ricky Parks at RB.

Class is going to be insane!
