I have been an SP+ disciple for years. But when OSU finished above LSU on the final rankings last year it got me questioning the model now.

It’s a season-long metric. Ohio State bludgeoned pretty much every team they played all season, before losing a tight one with with Clemson in the playoffs. I wouldn’t fault any metric that had Ohio State #1 after the season.

Absolutely invalid. Perhaps there were fewer good teams in 2018. Perhaps the difference between 10 and 25 was less. At any rate, way to make up a measure in an attempt to bolster and unprovable metric.
