Iowa Football Recruiting

Does anyone know who has had more wide receivers play regular season snaps in the NFL since Campbell took over - Iowa or Iowa State? Any guesses?

If only we had offered him at DE like he wants to play he’d be a cyclone. Really upset about it still

So you are saying CMC isn't a very smart recruiter then, or a very good one? Which is it. He either wasn't smart enough to offer as a DE, or good enough to sell Llewellyn that he has more potential at TE.

He played a few snaps a game early as he was a true Freshman. . Took over most of Wieting's snaps because of an injury to Wieting, for the Northwestern and Wisconsin games and didn't give up his snaps after that. Basically played the last 6 games, not many snaps in the first 6 games.

Thanks for playing though. Chase Allen would be a buried on the Hawks depth chart, he just isn't very good, and being 2nd Team All Big12 is like being the 20th best TE in the Big10 and 3rd best TE on the Hawks.

So he played 12 games and not 6 like you said? Good to know

Wait you don't even know how many games your star TE played in but you know how many regular season snaps Allen Lazard has? Yikes

You're making fun of something I said years ago because you said something stupid about your own team today? Bold move lol

The real funny part is you used the whole Chase Allen was 2nd team all big12 rational vs Hockenson and you went to the well again with said argument 2 year later. As I keep saying your trolls are tired and old, and you just keep spitting out the same **** the only thing that changes is the year.

Do you know how many snaps he got at TE in those first 6 games? Do you even know if he got a snap at TE, or was it special teams in those games he "appeared" in?

To be fair, I’m not just making fun of you for saying something stupid - I’m also making fun of something stupid someone else said today (that LaPorta is nowhere close to Allen and Soehner when in fact he was better than both of them as a true freshman).

Unfortunately for ISU CMC is getting beat often by PJ Fleck and Scott Frost as well as Iowa. Not a good sign when everyone in your geographic region is killing it on the recruiting trail, and you are sucking hind teat.
Other than this year as it sits right now, Nebraska has also been beating Iowa like a drum at recruiting and they haven’t been relevant in years....so not sure that’s a great measuring stick for you to use either

Not at all. Bruce was down to Iowa and ISU, and before he decided I was on here saying Bruce was one of only 4 WR that Iowa still wanted. If he would have picked ISU, that would have obviously been a loss to ISU there. Same with Llewellyn, same with Fidone.

On the flip side, lets just say for instance McLaurin picks ISU (that would be a good get BTW). I would correctly say that Iowa stopped recruiting him long ago as they are full at LB. That is a fact no matter who McLaurin picks. Same goes for Mbow, he isn't a take for us any longer, we are down to 2 guys right now on OL that we are going after.

Right now there just aren't may players left that would pick ISU that Iowa is even recruiting. I think you are out on the 1 RB we want (Ricky Parks), the 2 WR we might still take (Keegan Johnson and Bell), the 2 OL we might take (not sure if we take both) Alt and Myslinski. We are full at DE and LB, so if you get one with an Iowa offer, we simply aren't recruiting or taking another one. I am not sure where we stand at DB recruiting right now, as we are gonna take 1 more, so maybe Iowa and ISU are still fighting over a guy there, but I'm not sure.
This isn’t true or correct cause Iowa has also been contacting Tyler Maro so they obviously have space for OL.

Chase Allen is a good tight end. Arguing against that is..... typical trolling.

Neither. I’d say CMC is an absolute amazing recruiter since he came down to picking between ISU and Iowa even though he wanted to play defense.

So it doesn't count as a game played if you only played special teams? Does the NCAA know that?

Let's hear the answer. McCarron vs Lazard I assume

McCarron and Tevaun Smith for Iowa, Lazard for Iowa State. Pretty crazy - with how much we hear about how much better Iowa State is at developing NFL wide receivers, Iowa has had more over pretty much any recent time frame you want to reference, and they’ll likely be adding at least 1 more after this season, with Smith-Marsette projecting to be a day two pick.

What are the regular season snap counts for all three?
