They are pursing a couple DT right now, Pittman and Benny. Benny is a total longshot, I doubt we land him. Pittman has an ISU offer, not sure why CMC didn't at least throw an offer at a stud like Benny though.

I’m sure you already know Benny had an ISU offer. Probably as an OT.

I’d be surprised if ISU takes another DT, but it’s hard telling. Benny doesn’t fit the measureables that ISU looks for in their 3-3 DT.

Why does it matter to you so much who else offers a kid? Do you really think that is the be all end all to a prospects worth? The only recruits I want are those the Iowa coaches feel are a good fit for the Iowa culture not who else wanted the kid.

The 2005 class is the exact reason Iowa recruits differently today. While it was a very highly ranked class there were players that didn’t fit the Iowa culture and it showed in the results in 2007. I don’t really care what kids are ranked or how many stars they have. I hope they fit the culture of the program. I am excited when Iowa gets the players that are prioritized the most by the coaches.

They won an Orange Bowl with that 2005 class. If Stanzi had not gotten hurt against Northwestern, it would have been interesting to see what would have happened. Should have won that game but oh well. I don't think they really capitalized on the momentum of that Orange Bowl team and recruiting was somewhat stagnant until about 2015-2016 or so.

I believe it is widely understood by most hawk fans and cyclone fans that Zach accepted the ISU offer to secure a scholarship in case CMC left. There would be no guarantee a new coach would keep an offer on the table.

CMC definitely pulled the offer after it became apparent what Zach had done. It was the right decision by CMC.

I just disagree with your presentation of your fact without the additional material information regarding the scholly offer.
