NFL: 2020 NFL Off-season Thread

This seems pricey to me for a guy that had 390 total yards last season:

 
Jay Cutler is getting a divorce, this seems like some big offseason news.

Yeah, according to Overthecap, they're right up against the limit, only a little over a million dollars under. Dalton doesn't command a huge salary, but it will be significantly more than a million. So, if New England wanted to sign him they'd have to make room via cutting players.

New England is going to be interesting this year. It's hard not to give them the benefit of the doubt because of their past success, but it sure looks like they're heading for a down year. Lost a lot of pieces from last year's team, and really haven't addressed the offense much, which was sort of their Achilles heel last season. And now they appear to be rolling with a very inexperienced QB. Can definitely see them closer to 6-10 than 10-6 this season, but you never know.
 
Is andy dalton much if any more attractive than taking a flyer on Jameis winston?

Sean Payton has always loved his gadget players. Hill was definitely a huge factor in their playoff game against the Vikes. And they still might view him as the heir apparent at QB when Brees calls it a career.

I can't help but wonder if Belichick isn't relishing the challenge. He's such a good coach, it wouldn't shock me all that much if they're 9-6 and playing for a wild card going into the last week of next season. And I don't think he's done making moves yet this offseason, either.

I can see that. Winston is a lot younger, but is perceived to have a lot more warts, I think. Needs a lot of has been coaching. Daltont has been there and has performed at a fairly high level. I don't think he's a starter, but he's a pretty good backup plan. Just depends on a team's needs, I guess.

Accidental typo? Cause its pretty good.
 
If I needed a starter, I’d take Jameis over Dalton. If I needed a backup I’d take Dalton over Jameis. I know that sounds messed up.
