Iowa Football Recruiting

If we got to play in the Big 10 West we would've won 10 games too. That's it. Why is coming to a rival's message board and spending all day arguing make you feel so good about yourself. Honestly, it's kind of pathetic. Sad.

If isu played in the Big Ten West they would have finished 4th. Iowa, Wisconsin and Minnesota are all better than isu was. Not sure why clone fan would want to go to the Big Ten West to finish 4th in a division when you can tie for 3rd in the league you are in with a 5-4 record.

ISU played 7 bowl eligible teams going 1-6 vs them, while playing 3 top 15 teams. Iowa played 8 bowl eligible teams and 3 top 15 teams. The majority of BCS bowl SOS metric say Iowa played a tougher SOS. How in the world do you think you could win 3 more games while playing more bowl eligible teams and a tougher SOS?

I'd like to know how you disagree with this @Brodie0? Literally right from the article:
"First: What position did he want to play? At Urbandale, he plays anywhere from tight end to defensive end to defensive tackle to full back.

Penn State and Iowa offered him as a defensive end. Nebraska offered him as a rushing linebacker in its 3-4 defense. Michigan State and Kansas State said he could play tight end or defensive end. Kansas, Iowa State and Missouri offered him at tight end.

Llewellyn picked defense.

"Everything about defensive end — I like tackling, I like the one-on-ones with the tackle," he said. "I’m just all about defense."

Second question: Did he want to stay in Iowa or go out-of-state?

He chose in-state. That may have been what he decided to do in a normal recruitment anyway, but the inability to go visit some of the out-of-state schools certainly helped Llewellyn arrive to an earlier decision, he said.

In the end, Llewellyn narrowed his choices to Iowa and Iowa State. The Hawkeyes simply were a better fit for what he wanted."

Iowa State offered him as a TE. Once Iowa came into the picture, Iowa State told him he could play offense or defense, but it was too late.

ISU played 4 top 15 teams. Good effort though.

Well that's a lie

Clone fans will disagree with your argument and then instead of having something to back it up they will say all that counts is what Sagarin says.

They don't have much of an argument, as I use Sagarin SOS as well. That is one of the BSC Bowl metrics after all, but the fact remains that the majority of them say Iowa's SOS was tougher (even with ISU getting a significant SOS bump by playing Iowa).

Lol I am a Clone fan and I disagreed because this was inaccurate. Is that a good enough reason?

Yeah, it’s all in the technicalities. Similar to saying “bowl eligible teams” when selling your SOS so you can use a MAC team.

The dirty little secret is Iowa and ISU SOS was so close last year that it is pretty much negligible. The funny part though is all ISU fans are convinced that they played such a tough SOS that this is why CMC/Purdy could only muster 7 wins.

So besides the RB Silas for ISU, which others do you guys like. This circle jerk of an argument is annoying.
