Iowa Football Recruiting

Maybe. I think he's a better passer than either one of them. That's why I think it works. I think Hurts is also a pretty good passer so would make a better backup than RG3. I honestly think it works if you have a 2nd QB that can play in a similar fashion.

Hurts isn’t an NFL QB.

agreed. He has the mold, and excuse me on the comparison, of a Tim Tebow type. Agree?
Tim Tebow with a more accurate arm. However, not a five star runner/winner like Tebow. Tebow broke his leg in a game in highschool and still ran on it and lead his crappy school to a win.

I don't know if ANYONE is that tough.

Never did I act like that was a win even in the slightest. I feel bad for the kid really. He obviously really wanted to go to Iowa State seeing how we were still in the running even though he wanted to play defense but we weren’t offering that that to him. He made the best choice for him which was to go to his second choice school which offered him to play the side of the ball he wanted. No big deal. In reality, silly Campbell didn’t offer him at defense as well
It's really interesting to see the breakdown on who offered him for what. This info is from Blair over at HR, so if doesn't look correct let me know.

Offense:
ISU
Kansas
Missouri

Defense:
Iowa
Penn State
Kansas State
Michigan State
Nebraska
Northwestern

Only one national championship winning head coach on that list

100% positive we didn’t. Read the article. Says we offered only at TE
I'd like to know how you disagree with this @Brodie0? Literally right from the article:
"First: What position did he want to play? At Urbandale, he plays anywhere from tight end to defensive end to defensive tackle to full back.

Penn State and Iowa offered him as a defensive end. Nebraska offered him as a rushing linebacker in its 3-4 defense. Michigan State and Kansas State said he could play tight end or defensive end. Kansas, Iowa State and Missouri offered him at tight end.

Llewellyn picked defense.

"Everything about defensive end — I like tackling, I like the one-on-ones with the tackle," he said. "I’m just all about defense."

Second question: Did he want to stay in Iowa or go out-of-state?

He chose in-state. That may have been what he decided to do in a normal recruitment anyway, but the inability to go visit some of the out-of-state schools certainly helped Llewellyn arrive to an earlier decision, he said.

In the end, Llewellyn narrowed his choices to Iowa and Iowa State. The Hawkeyes simply were a better fit for what he wanted."

Don't count us out of the running. If we don't land Bollers, Nelson or a few of the other guys on the board, We'll be right back in for Llewellyn. Don't know if we can flip him, but we'll make a good case.

So you make up a story about every Iowa recruit.....jealous much?
How did i make it up? It's literally in the article that said he picked between us and Iowa and that ISU ONLY offered at TE. So if we were STILL in the running after only offering at TE and he wanted to play defense, its's not hard to connect the dots. Sorry that your recruit really wants to play at your rival

Michigan State and Kansas State told him he could play TE or DE. Other than that your list is correct

Why is SOS such a crutch for isu fans? It is odd you take such great pride in losing to teams better than you.
If we got to play in the Big 10 West we would've won 10 games too. That's it. Why is coming to a rival's message board and spending all day arguing make you feel so good about yourself. Honestly, it's kind of pathetic. Sad.

It kills time while waiting for pointless zoom meetings for work. I don't have to put on pants to do it. And it's far more entertaining than screaming at my kids to get off their phones and clean their rooms.
