My point is you were a 4 win team without him. That's not good. We were a 10 win team without him but have been told we would've been better with him and won a couple of the games we lost. Therefore probably making us at the very least a playoff contender. Campbell is very fortunate to have ended up with Purdy. It goes to show that one player even in football can hugely change perceptions of a coach. We would be discussing how hot Campbell's coaching seat is right now were it not for Brock Purdy.

Beating out Alabama is a bit subjective. If Alabama had been recruiting Purdy hard all along things may have been different. From my understanding Campbell got in on Purdy early and Alabama made a late push to try to steal him from you. Purdy is a good kid by all accounts and honored his commitment to Campbell. Hat's off to both Campbell and Purdy. Things would be pretty ugly over at Jack Trice right now without him.
Pre CMC it is absolutely all they had. They can't figure out you don't need to cry about SOS when you are going bowling every year. You also don't have to pretend like beating a 5 win team is some major accomplishment.
Clone fan crying about SOS again. The reason isu was #5 was because they lost to a 10 win Iowa team in the non-con. Conversely Iowa was penalized for beating a 7-6 team even if it was on the road.

ISU played more top 25 teams than Iowa did and according to your Iowa brethren only top 25 teams matter all the rest of the teams are the same.

You mean everyone uses 247 COMPOSITE rankings? Oh sure, that makes sense. you take more than just one ranking, that would be Cherry picking to just pick out one, no matter what the reason was. Thanks for helping me out, I'm switching to the COMPOSITE RANKING OF SEVERAL SITES.

Yeah but he's not wrong. Sagarin SOS rankings are based on the Sagarin team rankings of your opponents. A few years ago ISU fans were talking about their high Sagarin SOS ranking, but then scoffed at Iowa's #10 final Sagarin ranking. If it weren't for Iowa's #10 ranking, ISU's SOS ranking wouldn't have been as high as it was. Can't have one without the other.
