Iowa Football Recruiting

And lets not forget the pass that drew the PI on DJ Johnson late - that should have been intercepted, but I don’t think Johnson realized the ball was going to take that long to get there. He had enough time to grab a newspaper and coffee and still get there in time to pick that pass off.

Pointing out your DB doesn't have good ball skills and cheated on a play to try to discredit Purdy. Lol bold move

I guess I wouldn't have expected you to join the ranks of those who predictably default to blaming the refs for the loss.
Nah I don't blame the refs for the loss, mostly due to the fact that we would've had a legit chance to win the game if not for the punt return team. I can acknowledge how bad of a call it was without saying it was the single reason why Iowa State loss.

As I said before, I cannot say with certainty that we would've won the game even if the call wouldn't have happened. I said if we had to kick a 35+ yard field goal we would've had a 50/50 shot of making it.

Yeah, as a young guy he is used to going up against QBs with NFL arms in practice. Didn’t have much experience against...finesse passers like Purdy at that point.

I mean you're simplifying the situation because Purdy was under duress, it was 4th down, and he had to at least put the ball up into the air for someone to have a chance. Either way, your 70/30 comment was just an exaggeration that's all lol. Was there a slim chance Purdy might've turned it over? Sure. Was it almost a 1 in 3 chance that happens? No, especially considering we would've had the ball in good field position to basically get better field position to put us into a field goal scenario.

Either way, it doesn't matter. The flag was thrown for the "holding" and our special teams f*** up instilled the fact that we didn't deserve to win the game anyway.
Man, I just went and watched it. Wasn't much pressure at all on that one, pretty surprised by it actually.

We get it. He doesn't have good ball skills and isn't good at adjusting. I'm sure he's a good kid you don't need to keep putting him down

Yet he didn't.

Yeah, that’s inaccurate. That’s only true if you exclude Army and Biglow and combine the offers of the other 10 commits.
If you don't count the one more point scored, Iowa wouldn't have beaten ISU. Freaking idiot.

I honestly haven't watched the replay in a while so must've just thought he was. Either way it didn't matter in the grand scheme of things. We had another shot to win the game and blew it. I don't think Purdy would've made that same mistake again.

What makes me mad is our defense had two opportunities to win the game late in the second half but our guys flat out dropped interceptions. Have to make big plays to win big games and we consistently failed to do that that day.

Have a look. Not sure what he saw on that one. No pressure, and threw into bracket coverage.

That army kid runs a 5 flat 40........
At a combine his sophomore year...
He doesn't run track, 40s are all about getting a good start and striding out. I don't expect a sophomore who doesn't run track to have a good 40.

Why?

Kids are going to specialized speed and agility training younger and younger. My son has been doing such since 12. There are kids 8-10 years old. Your post doesn't really jive with reality. The 40 is a HUGE measurable. It is nearly impossible to believe he has not been working on it.
