All Iowa Football Team---Post Bowl Edition

I compare Kolars game a lot to Noah Fants while he was in college. Great pass catcher but not a fantastic blocker. Assuming Kolars blocking doesn’t improve, is he a first round pick and finally breaks ISU’s long first round draft drought? If not, is he for sure one of his blocking improves?
Why is this funny @Brodie0? I asked a legitimate question

I think you're correct. The programs appear to be trending in different directions at the moment.
You guys always get so excited about a few recruits but you mostly end up the same. Soon Brian will take over and the program will go down in flames. That guy is awful. You can't argue with me on that.

I think Fant is more athletic than Kolar. Kolar sort of reminds me of Mark Andrews from OU or am I still off there?
Good comparison. Fant was not happy how he was being used at Iowa the last year he was there, and I don't blame him. However he was still a top 10 pick so it all worked out for him. If Iowa had a real QB they could've been really good with 2 top 10 guys to throw to. Instead they had FS.

Fant was a freak for sure but I personally think Kolar is more athletic than andrews is/was. I think its a fair comparison though

Fant was not a top 10 pick. He was #20

Kolar reminds me of Austin Hooper.
I can see that. Kolar is a couple of inches taller but I believe they are similar weight. Kolar will continue to get stronger and improve his blocking. He certainly has a future in the NFL.

I think it had more to do with the style of offense coupled with the fact that Hockenson was Stanley's favorite. I don't blame Fant for developing animosity towards Stanley or Kirk/Brian, but in the end it worked out well for him.

If Charlie's production stays similar or even gets better, I definitely could see him being a top 10-20 pick.

Even I think that's a little bit of a stretch. He's very good, but I'm not quite ready to go there with you yet.
I don't think he's saying he's as good as Tony Gonzales, just that there's a similarity between their height and length, and the way they play the game, which I would agree.

Yeah I don't think Kolar will be the greatest TE in NFL history lol

They are similar in size and both play tight end. Gonzales was an athletic freak. So if you say a poor man's Gonzales, sure. Like I said, he's good, will play in the NFL, but other than stature, I have to disagree with this one.

We're not claiming him, he remains yours until proven otherwise.
