I decided to click on recruits I had never heard of. Here are some kids CMC signed that has 0 P5 offers:

I'm not going to even go any further. CMC has a massive amount of misses on guys that had 0 P5 offers. 3 hits, and 15 misses (in 2 classes alone). Heck Kirk Ferentz has made a career finding and developing kids with 0 other P5 offers, but you still have way more misses than hits with these guys.

My whole point this entire time is you just can't rely on too many of these kinds of recruits. CMC's actual strength is he has gotta players to Ames that actually have offers from other P5 schools. That is who CMC is winning with, the Brock Purdy's of the world, not the Zeb Noland's who have no other P5 interest in them.

I mean our 3 starting LBs this year had zero P5 offers. For me it's more position dependent. Obviously at a position like LB he can do whatever he wants and I'll trust him

I didn't even realize that was the Lonnie Johnson in question. I just knew a Lonnie Johnson did nothing at ISU. So sure, I'll take him off the "misses" list, but he certainly doesn't go on CMC's "hits list" either.

Are you not concerned even a little bit that many kids are not ranked at all on the national scale. This seems atypical of Campbell's previous classes. I am reserving judgement as coach has earned it.

That is all I have been saying all along. Most reasonable fans would think this way. Heck Ferentz is as good as it gets as far as getting low star 0 P5 offer kids to become great players. You still can't build a whole class off of that though, as you end up still missing on more than you hit on with those guys.

He didn’t qualify academically. I would say it was technically a good job of identifying an under-recruited player so you could make a case that it should be a hit in the context that you and Twins were arguing about. But he didn’t do anything for ISU so screw that guy lol.
