Iowa Football Recruiting

Iowa’s class average has been very high in the early months the past few years and is again right now.

It’ll creep towards the mean come December.

I feel like Groundhog Day. We have to explain it to the Hawk fans who show up here banging their chests in May about a top 10ish class, only to have it finish just like all their other classes.

This thread is kinda like this tire. It had a lot of traction when it was new, but over time and repeated posts (hawks repeatedly bringing up the same thing) on here, this thread has worn down and has lost control. Mods need to retire this thread get a new one and properly inflate (control) the egos of the hawk trolls on here.

Iowa hasn't won a national title. Just stop. Ignoring the fact that it was in 1958, LSU's name is beside Iowa. That means they didn't out right win one. So what little of thread you were holding on to before is just sad

Yes they have. You may not like that fact, but they did.

I don’t think it has been this high on a player average basis. From my recollection, past rankings this early have been due to high quantity of commits.

Iowa’s recruiting has been on a pretty steady climb the last 3 or 4 years. Certainly possible Iowa ends up with a Top 30 or borderline Top 25 class this year if they can finish strong.

I’d say you could make a reasonable argument for Ferentz to be anywhere from 1st to 4th in the Big Ten West. I personally would probably have him 2nd behind Chryst, but I think there are reasonable arguments for Fleck and Fitzgerald to be higher.

There's no argument you could put Ferentz 1st ahead of Chryst

Mods need to ban you for idiotic posts, of which 90% or more of them are. You and Brodie get your IM basketball shirts from the same discount store?

Big 12 teams outside of the Sagarin top 53: One

Big Ten teams outside of the top 68: (whispers) five

/argument.

LOL, Sagarin ratings again. Does Sagarin own this site or something?

Iowa played 16 bowl eligible teams over the last 2 years, while ISU has played 15. Any team that can't get bowl eligible is a cupcake pure and simple.

Lol I knew you just made up those "7 reputable SOS metrics"

You seriously don't know that there were 5 computer metrics that were used in the computer rankings? None was weighted greater than the other, they were all used. I wonder why they didn't just rely on Sagarin if it is so super duper awesome and correct?

Some other hawk troll by the banned names of FightForIowa, Yeahbuddy etc. worshipped the ground he walked on.

There are different levels to cupcake status because there is a huge difference between a 5-7 team and a 2-10 team.

No not really. Sure you might beat LMU 72-20, and WVU 38-10. So yeah the degree of victory might be different, but you shouldn't lose to a non bowl eligible team.
