I agree, but I feel we will get it in the next two years. This team has shown it's talent in flashes. Sooner or later, they will put it all together and get a big one. I really think a couple of good breaks at the right time will send them off in the right direction. Hopefully that happens next year!
As bad as we are right now, it's not even fair to the team or fan base to speculate on this right now. How about we get a road win before we worry about a "program defining win" Or even just a conference win period.
We will get a conference win in the next two weeks. It will not be a program defining win, but it will be a win.

I don't think you really get to have a "defining victory" until you're solidly on your way back to health. Minnesota beating Penn State this year would be a defining victory. Us beating, say, Missouri this year would be a fluke victory.

That's a bold statement. Are you watching the same team I am? Or are you just trying to stay positive in the face of a 2 win season. I hate to say this but even KSU is a better team than us right now. Lame Duck coach and all.
ISU defeated Nebraska in the 1970s two consecutive years. I wouldn't be surprised if Nebraska was a top five team then.
We just made the worst B12 offense look like Texas Tech. There is no way we have the defense to win another game this season.
Yeah, if I remember right Mizzou beat CU 50-0 last weekend ... so compensating for us being at home, that's like 47 points to make up. Amazing would be a better word than fluke.
Well we had a victory starring us right in our face today and once again figured out a way to lose. this team needs a win before the year is over or next year may fair to be the same. I think Gene needs to overide some calls made by his coordinators to win games like this one today that is why you are a head coach. I loved our effort by our young team, but the calls today were just not there? I am confused on how we lost today I really am. I do not want there heads or anything, but put yourself in position to win not to freakin lose. QB sneak up the middle game over Iowa State wins!!! Defining victory could be next week who the hell knows? I hope so, but the play calling has to really improve for that to happen.
Our offense has improved 20 yards a game this year but our defense has lost an additional 60 yards. We are headed to a Kevin Cosgrove defense where we cannot stop anyone. Wait, the 24 turnovers makes up for the 60 yards of extra leakage each game. Guess Ace Bowen saved our hindies last year.
Leonard Johnson may make the All Big 12 Conference team for Special teams, Otherwise, I cannot think of anyone. As it tirnms out, we did lose a lot of talent last year in Banks, Blythe, Bret, Rubin, Bowen, and Flynn. Shall we call this our Greg McDermott new start year again with all the new faces?

This team needs to win a game, then 5 or 6 in a season, a road game or two, 8 in games a season then worry about a defining victory. Iowa has had a better program that ISU and they just got one of their biggest victorys. Anyone else tierd of all the Iowa talk here recently.
