Garza declares for the NBA

Who is the last first team All American and conference player of the year that ISU has lost early?
You have one all American in like 50 years and you are bragging on this? Wow! I knew Hawk fans were delusional but this takes it to a whole new level. With an all American you couldn't even sniff a conference championship on top of it. Congrats on the great season for U of I standards! Finishing 1 game over .500 in conference and sneaking in to the top 25 at the end is quite the accomplishment for an all american!

Well Garza was a week ago and the most recent Cyclone was 20 years ago.

It shouldn't be that confusing.
Fizer also won 32 games that year as well as a league regular season title- Garza finished in a four way tie for 5th with a 20-11 record.

Sneaking in the top 25? Iowa was ranked every week from January 20th through the end of the season.

Sorry, you're right. Hanging on by your fingernails would have been a better way to put it. Glad you agree with everything else I had to say!

Thread on Haliburton declaring for the draft on an ISU message board= 4 pages.

Thread on Garza declaring for the draft on an ISU message board= 10 pages and counting.

For some reason, I am not surprised.

Think harder.

I used to think that, then I saw Nikola Jokic dominate the league. There are still plenty of slow footed centers in the NBA. They need passing and shooting skills though, which Garza has.

Jokic is an elite playmaker. An elite shooter.

I don’t think Garza has no chance. But I do think he will probably need to go to the G League for awhile to improve his athleticism and his all around game.

Well one guy has been in every top 10 since November, so him going pro has been rehashed a million times. The other guy is 5 years away from selling real estate or working at State Farm, so there is more to talk about when they declare.
