Yeah... from what I've gathered through my rural Iowa friends, they aren't taking social distancing nearly as seriously as they should be. Those rural county hospitals are NOT equipped to handle this.

hearing the same about rural northern WI and people who work in the healthcare up there are really concerned.

If we study the data from other countries, not China, we should see a flattening of the curve around April 6th.
If we still have an increase of daily cases by then, we could be in series trouble. By then we should also have plenty of testing kits so we will be doing less guessing and have more true numbers.

On the verge of suspending/deleting Facebook. My god.

Make sure you do one of those posts that goes something like:

"I've deleted a lot of people recently so if you are reading this, congratulations! You made the cut!"

I just LOVE when I see those. Makes me glad to know that person kept me around!

As intense as some convos have gone on here, I'd imagine stuff like FB is thriving in toxicity right now.

It's been years since I've had it...I remember one person I was 'friends' with on there but not in reality, would post stuff of themselves driving, filming a bicyclist riding legally along a county highway, to ridicule that rider while filming for not using the one trail in the area (that was mainly gravel) without taking into consideration that filming while driving is more unsafe and illegal.

I'd bet those types are having a field day.

I see everyone on facebook making all these cloth masks. While they are better than nothing and a last resort, they really don't do anything to protect the person. The efficiency just isn't there.

They are being used to wear over N95s to extend their longevity though.

Yeah...it's weird. Those areas aren't THAT isolated and there's plenty of colleges and people on the go up there.

There was already a case in Bayfield County last week.

Vilas County at least put a thing out for people to self-quarantine if they're visiting...but no idea how that's going to go over.

My boss just came back and he believes the shutdown may come within the next day or two and told us to prepare to work from home.

We sha'll see but I'm not holdin' my breathe!

Was he just speculating or does he have some sort of contacts?

But not 'everybody go work from home who can since that's been a viable option all along anyway'.

Logical.

Oh, just speculation and his own opinion!

Family member of mine works for Wells Fargo Advisors, though and got her letter yesterday that deemed her an essential employee.

Not sure if those larger companies are hearing things or not.

My parents live in a rural county that already has positive cases. After talking with my parents I 100% agree. It doesn’t sound like their area is taking things as seriously as they should be. What's even scarier is the county has 2 respirators total.

However the school district closed for a month way before most schools in the DSM metro did.
