An interesting thing I've noticed: I sponsor a geocaching location nearby. It's had four hits in the past week, which is about what we had reported the whole year before.

Iowa has updated their COVID-19 website and it now shows 19 more cases have been confirmed since yesterday.
That's positive (or negative?) news. Has it recently been reported how many testing kits we have in the state?
Yesterday I believe there were 15 new positive cases. I have no idea if we're testing more than we did yesterday, but the day before I believe there were 22 cases that tested positive. Either way, the more testing we do, the more positive cases will start to pop up, which will probably lead to more measures that need to be taken by Governor Reynolds.
It looks like we've tested ~2300 people. 5% of those tested have been positive. Not sure where that stands nationally.
Which by the end of the week(i would hope) a shelter in place order will happen.
To me, it appears Iowans are doing a good job of social distancing. We know it's been in the state (CR area) for several weeks and to have as few cases as we do is a really good sign. Now, I'm not saying we're in the clear but it's at least encouraging.
I wish we would get daily updates on the number of hospitalizations that ave resulted from the virus. I read on twitter that as of yesterday, it was 7.
I honestly have the standpoint that it is inevitable we will end up with a shut down, like some surrounding states have started to do. Minnesota will likely implement that order today. Kansas's governor has said that the stay at home order will likely become "unavoidable". A couple of counties in Missouri have issued this order, and Wisconsin is putting this into effect starting tomorrow morning.
In her pressor, Governor Reynolds said don't believe right now we need to do that but are continuing to look at the data in order to make that next step. She's been behind other states with some of her decisions, but also isn't the last state to make a call either. We'll just have to wait and see but I'd honestly be shocked if we don't end up with a shut down of non-essential businesses in the near future.
I think it's amazing that in this day of almost instant access to anything online, we can find so much of this information. It involves so much behind the scenes coordination and collaboration, and actual time by actual people! I am quite satisfied with having first world problems.
I think for the most part we have. I know a lot of people that are complying, and if they have any kind of interactions it's very safe.
IE, I have some friends who went kayaking last weekend. Everyone drove themselves, and kept their distance from each other. Once you're on the water it's super easy to stay more than 6' away from anyone and carry on a conversation and enjoy the outdoors.
I've seen people out standing in their yards talking to others who were more than 6 feet away.
My brother lives in St. Paul, and on their block everyone came outside on Sunday and did yoga spaced 10 feet away from anyone other than their immediate family members. The Social Distance Nazis will probably scream that this is unsafe, but by all medical accounts it isn't.
I haven't seen crowded stores, people huddled close in parks, or significant social gatherings being hosted in homes.
Hopefully we don’t mess around with it either and it’s extended through the end of May or so to start with.
