After 5 games Taylor has a much better start than Clipper teammate and former lottery pick Eric Gordon.

Taylor 16 min/game 5.4 ppg
Gordon 5 min/game 2.0 ppg

Most surprising stat on Taylor 15 assists, 5 turnovers

They've been saying that Taylor is one of the most tenacious defenders on that team...and I for one am pretty sure that's something we never saw while he was at ISU. The NBADL was definitely a benefit to Mike, and I'm stoked that he got to a place where things got put into perspective for him, and he was able to expand on his skillset. Look forward to seeing the team-play from him in the season to come!

Hopefully he does well, makes a few bucks and remembers the opportunities that ISU gave him. i wish him well.

the Clippers are going to suck worse than soccer this year unfortunately. no offense to Mike T, its just how it is.

even Willoughby was NBA material on a horrible bulls team a while back

We saw some great defense from Taylor, but in spurts only. Kinda like Kobe in LA, when you are your teams main and really only guy that creates offense, you can't put out as much effort on defense.

Remember that game at Minnesota when Taylor went off? He was so hot that game that he was sprinting down the court with the ball and he would just stop and nail a 3 pointer time after time. One of the best single game performances I've seen by a Cyclone.

Must not have seen much of Fizer....

Kobe Bryant has been 1st Team NBA defense 6 Times! 2nd Team 2 Times! I wouldn't use him as an example. Maybe LeBron James

what are you smoking? Kobe is the man on defense, one of the toughest defenders in the NBA. He's gotten all kinds of awards for it.

Edit: Clones85 beat me to the punch

I am happy for Mike, he seems to have things put back together in his life. And this is why I have faith in McD's talent eye and recruiting.

-keep.

I think he was saying he plays D like Kobe, In SPURTS....(I still don't agree with the comment but I think thats what they ment)

Kobe is a great defense player.

I took it as him saying that Kobe only plays defense in spurts when that is not the case. You don't get to be all NBA defense 3 years straight by only playing defense half the time

To be honest, I haven't been a Eric Gordon fan since he dropped his commitment to Illinois to go play at Indiana with a coach that had questionable recruitments practices. He could have stood to have a few more years of basketball development in the NCAA and it shows with his play compared to a more veteran Taylor.

At Iowa State it was pretty much the first time Mike played PG. Not a shock he is picking it up well.

Clearly the best ISU basketball talent in a LONG time.

Watching him, Wes, Lucca, Brackins all on the floor at the same time would have been fun.
