Is it bad that my first reaction to potential severe weather is "hey, something entertaining to watch!"

I'm already working in the basement so bring it on!Nothing like a good ol’ F4 to take your mind off the impending doom.
the storm spotter training I went to last spring the instructor was saying historically the area around SE MN, SW WI, and NE IA is over due for a strong tornado.Nothing like a good ol’ F4 to take your mind off the impending doom.
Parkersburg and New Hartford would probably disagree.the storm spotter training I went to last spring the instructor was saying historically the area around SE MN, SW WI, and NE IA is over due for a strong tornado.
he was from NWS La Cross and yes he mentioned that storm even. I think they use the development of that storm in some of their presentation. but the area gets 1-2 F3 or above storms about every decade is what he was saying. Parkersburg being 2008 and there hasn't been much since.... we were driving across on 20 as that storm was developing, I will always remember how pitch black it was to the north that afternoon.Parkersburg and New Hartford would probably disagree.
Ours in Ames ran pretty much all morning. I need to get our gauge up so I know how much is coming down and creating the puddles in the adjoining back yard.Sump pump ran once this morning. Glad to hear it still runs! We got over 1" of rain here in Ames today. Now a round of heavy rain coming in the AM and storms in the afternoon. What next zombies?
