Just made hopefully my last store run...eggs were still there, looked like the entire nuts section was wiped out but wondering if that had to do with exposure since they're not packaged.

Fruits were still there. If you get super green ones they'll last a good week. Apples can be refrigerated.

Frozen stuff or anything that can be cooked/nuked I'd think would be good options.

Oh, and I've used about 1/8 of a toilet paper roll in the last 3 days so on track to need MAYBE 4 over the next month.

Just curious for anyone thats been to a grocery store the last few days. I know frozen foods and soups are probably gone. But how is the inventory with fresh foods like fruits and veggies? Or eggs? I haven't been to a grocery store for a while so just want to get an idea of the situation. (In Ames)
Fareway on Stange had everything yesterday morning.

Stopped at Hy-Vee in Waukee at 10 after we shut down the office (sent everybody remote) and it was surreal. Been there daily for the past week and today was the first time the shelves were really showing empty spaces.

Soup and canned foods were all 90% empty or empty. Rice and pasta was all bare. TP, napkins, facial tissue, and the like were all gone.

Clean out the healthy/organic aisles. Pricey? Yes. Availble? Probably.

I went to our lower income area hyvee here and had my pick of anything i wanted.

The media in general makes it worse by focusing coverage on "interesting" things like empty shelves in stores, hoarding toiled paper, death totals, etc. Instead of "here's what you should actually be doing", because that is boring...

Please encourage people to be diligent, calm, prudent, and smart. And give it a try yourself while you are at it.

There is tons of that linked from every major media outlet in the country. If peeps don't want to read anything longer than a Twitter length posting than that's on them. If peeps see the Idris Elba story and the "What I need to know about the virus" side-by-side and only click on the actors story, well, guess that's the medias fault.

I did a HyVee run Saturday night and Sams run this afternoon here in CR. HyVee wasn't too bad other than out of ground beef and of course TP. Sams today was another thing. Meats, cereal, breads, cleaning items are all gone. A few canned goods around, most dog food was gone. Crackers, Granola and related items were pretty easy to find though.

Very bipolar. Tons of women with heaping carts of stuff and then others just browsing through the clothes or thumbing through the books. Not chaotic at all, just busy.

I'm still confused by the hording of Toilet paper. That just confuses the crap out of me.

I made a run to the store last night and spend 130 bucks for my daughter and I. I think that should last about 5 days. Then I will probably make another run in 5 days or so.

No reason to make a ****** situation ACTUALLY ******.

I imagine it's mostly just herd mentality, and also people are morons, maybe my family just doesn't poop as much as others but we'll buy a pack at Sam's Club and it'll last for like 2 months.
