The Fran fade

10+ players in the NBA and 2 Conference Tourney titles in 5 years for Prohm. Not that I would expects a Squawk fan to know how good it feels to win a conference tournament. But, yes as bad as this season sucked I'd still rather have Prohm than Mad Fran. If Garza does not come back next year Hawks will be back to middle of conference at best.
Over/under win totals for next (regular) season

ISU - 15.5
Iowa (w/o Garza) 18.5
Iowa (w Garza) 24

The thing is, I think he WILL come back. He has proven to be a very, very good college player (much to my surprise), but he would get completely eaten alive by any of the bigs in the league. He is WAY TOO SLOW to keep up with the likes of Gobert, Adams or Harrell. In fact, even 2nd-string guys like Plumlee, Len or Ilyasova would be too much of a handful for him. He definitely could do okay in the G-League vs players like Woodbury, however.
He may yet prove me wrong but, right now, he lacks athleticism and elite multidimensional skill in order to make it in the league. I fully expect him to be back at Iowa next year.

I think the only concern would be him acknowledging there isn't much more for him to prove in college and declaring. For some guys, like Garza, their ceiling is what it is. I don't think there's much more he can do in college that would elevate his stock. Take a shot at the NBA and have Europe as a fallback.

I was driving South of Carroll the other day on HWY 71 and saw minivan down by the river, so maybe Twins has gone on a some sort of a mission/sabbatical trip and living off the land. I was running late so I didn't stop to see if it was really him or not. Van did have ISU plates on it though.
He was with Georges? I thought Georges was in quarantine....

I don't know how the other teams in the big 12 shape up for next season, you could be right. Would be a nice jump up for you guys. The Hawks are probably higher than 21.5 with Garza back.
They might be and I’m sure that will be the perception and probably Vegas’ take.

I genuinely think they will win 21-22 regular season games.

I don’t know where my faith comes from, but I’ll put ISU right at the 17-18 win mark.

Is Fran leaving then? Cause he'll find a way to lose some games. Conners gotta play significant minutes next year after his prestigious sportsmanship award, right? And Patrick will have to start based on genetics alone.

The Big 12 is so much better than the Big 10.

I can't wait until they beg to join our conference.

We'll show 'em.

Lol good grief.

ISU 17.5
Iowa 21.5
Yeah this looks more accurate. I'd take ISU over 17.5 with a couple NIT wins. Iowa can go over 21.5 with Garza, but certainly not without. Jorbo, Weiskamp, and Frederick are all role players, and they would be the best ones Iowa could throw out there next year. Connor assist number take a hit without the big man to feed. Although I'm sure someone like Nunge or Pemsl could break out and slide into Garza's spot. Plug'n Play right?

Does Garza's Dad still owe people millions of dollars? Could affect Luka's decision.
