This is why Prohm must go........

I'd think we are getting close to a steady state pretty soon and this slows down. It's not like there is a growing number of G-league and NBA roster spots. It's easy to say, "That guy is probably not NBA material, but he'll just go to the G-league." No matter what, all of the guys entering the draft and FA have to take a roster spot from somebody currently in the NBA or G-league. After a few years of marginal guys heading to the G-league, the college talent is getting watered down enough where there just aren't as many guys good enough to take roster spots. Now if you start seeing a higher percentage of guys make the NBA after playing professionally overseas, that's where the further dilution is more likely in my opinion.

The next step with the G-league will be drafting kids right out of high school. This will have a huge trickle down effect on the non blue bloods but the 4 year player will be much more common again.

I see Freddie has suspended two players and is heading into the Big 10 tourney on a 16 game losing streak. Likely to finish 7-25. As mediocre as Husker have been in hoops they had never lost 20 in a season. Guessing none of his players are leaving for the NBA but bet there will be more transfers out.

Still better than Ken Trickey's 3-25, guessing that's the worst season in Big 8/12 history. We've had three 19 game losing seasons, a few 18's and the 20 this year.

I definitely think his seat is warm. If the team looks the same as this next year, I think he has to go. But I think if there are improvements he stays even if they don't quite make the tournament. But I would guess he has to make the NIT at least to stay.

Even that is crazy. It’s a stretch to keep him after this year, and there are no good reasons other than financial. If he comes back next year it’s NCAAs or bust.

What roles do you think the recruits fall into next year, and what strengths do they have that could flip the team from 20 losses?
Walker will be the least likely to be a major contributor right out of the gate but Foster, Dubar, and Blackwell will be much welcomed additions. I know this sounds crazy but here's a thought. What if some of our current players/guards develop?!?! CSP definitely needs to snag another ball handler off the transfer/juco market but we will have the pieces to make a significant stride forward next year.

Would you have been all for firing Johnny after the 1990 season or even 91? I could argue that the 1990 season was worst than this one. I agree Prohm needs to get his crap together and fast, but he will be here next year and if there is improvement probably the following year, so sit back and hope for some major improvements, but above all GO CYCLONES.

Terrible comparison.

Xavier is ranked higher than Georges was, hilton legend incoming confirmed.

The one area that ISU has struggled the most during Prohm’s tenure is defensive rebounding. I used to think this was a result of playing small yet we declined in this area even more while playing 2 bigs this year.

Any idea why his teams are so poor at defensive rebounding?

Yeah, poor boxing out and lack of effort.

I'm not sure they're the guys we need for a quick turnaround next year. Probably good 4 year guys though.
Okay so I've seen plenty of people who hold the same opinion that I do that Prohm going after talent that leaves early isn't working out and that he needs to change his ways. This class sort of proves that's what Prohm's doing correct?

I'd rather us improve next year and be very solid for the following years than for us to have a quick turn around, lose talent again, and then be back to where we currently are.

It plays a part. Miami and MSU are ranked below us and both have 2 players in the top 75 in their class. I'd rather have those classes. IMO.
Oklahoma State has the #1 ranked class in the Big 12 primarily because they have 1 great guy who happens to be the #1 recruit in the nation.. I would much rather have a solid all around class than a very top heavy one, being pulled up by one or two guys who are most likely done after a year or two.

I agree, I'm just wondering how a frustrated fanbase is going to handle growing pains next year again.
