According to a NorthJersey.com article Iowa State was third in average attendance.

1. Iowa – 12,568
2. Penn State – 7,604
3. Iowa State – 4,795
4. Rutgers – 4,292
5. Ohio State – 4,118

The coaching staff has done a great job in bringing excitement back to Hilton and making every weight fun to watch.

The attendance gap between Iowa and Penn State is unreal. Especially since they literally are ranked 1 and 2.

Great to see. Just think what it could be if we were in a National Title Hunt! We could easily be pushing Penn State numbers.

Seems like having Iowa here this year helped our average much more than it hurt theirs. I'll take it.

2020 Iowa State's Attendance per Meet:

Bucknell 3,049
Iowa 11,238
Chattanooga 3,073
Oklahoma State 4,403
West Virginia 3,362
UNI 5,129
North Dakota St 3,308

Average 4,795

A really good home schedule (Iowa, OSU, UNI) provided for some high attendance meets. What I find more impressive is the attendance vs Bucknell and Chattanooga. This, to me, is a reflection of the core fan base. Record season ticket sales and good marketing leads to no meet attendance below 3,000.

Average attendance through the years:

2007 2,453 <-Sanderson

2008 4,311
2009 3,016
2010 4,541 <-Jackson
2011 2,390
2012 3,087
2013 2,455
2014 3,255
2015 2,369
2016 2,545
2017 3,280
2018 3,361 <-Dresser
2019 3,570
2020 4,795

Hopefully, we keep this current trend going!

It's interesting that Kevin Dresser's averages beat Cale Sanderson's....Hopefully the fans will keep coming to the wrestling meets and support the program....

It will probably take hit but I would guess (and hope) next year’s attendance are respectable despite the lack of the Iowa and okie st and uni on the schedule given the group of seniors last go round

And no funky meets at Kinnick for EIU to prop up the stats even more.
