Tough day for EIU hoops hopes

What'd he even do?

Nothing, that is the joke. He just told the press what happened on the court at the end of the game. Said if Illinois wants to foul to extend the game by fouling, that is fine they will go shoot free throws. Yet the officials (Eades specifically) needs to make that call, all they need to do is call the foul, and then none of what happened would have happened. So basically he did nothing at all, just like we said.

That is the perfect answer to that question.

But I bet you will still have an opinion on it.

And you can quit with this act. We all know you watch all their games. The "I don't care enough to watch, but I do care enough to have 8,000 posts on the topic" schtick is tired.

You're right I'm going to watch Iowa vs Purdue over an Iowa State game tonight. Go away troll

Being called a troll by CyTwins is rich.

It's not just this game it's prior games as well. You can't claim to be disinterested in Iowa Basketball and while devoting your life's work to criticizing Iowa basketball.

Really good listen here as Fran joins Dakich and Greenberg.
They completely defended him for the incident after the Illini game.
Glad you're a Dakich guy:
"If I was Bo Ryan, I would send that video in to the Big Ten office and ask that Woodbury get suspended. There's no rhyme or reason for that. That's complete garbage. When you do that, you're doing it on purpose to a completely defenseless player.
"It's gutless as well and he's doing it on purpose. You can say he's not and you can get mad at me all you want, but he's doing it on purpose, it needs to stop and the Big Ten office needs to discipline the kid.
"Woodbury, for some reason, Woodbury thinks that that kind of thing is toughness. That's as cowardly as you can be to hit a guy from behind or to poke a guy in the face and quite frankly Fran McCaffery and his staff have got to stop this.
"Coaches are notorious for making excuses for players and there's no excuse for what this guy is doing out here,"
"It's just ridiculous and he just tries to play it off. Hey, if you're going to cheap shot somebody at least have the guts to show up and say, ‘Hey, I hit you.' To me it's up the coaching staff to get rid of that stuff."

Now kidding, I'm still waiting for said suspension as well. I mean Twins did say that you can't do what Connor did, and that a suspension was coming. LOL.

I mean this didn't even get a public reprimand or statement from the league and he thought a suspension was coming.

I cannot imagine having a college kid take up so much space in my head.

Criticized the official by name
Did he criticize the official or did he just mention him by name? If he simply mentioned his name, I don't see anything wrong with that. These guys develop relationships with referees and I don't think he'd get into trouble if he said "If Eades isn't going to call the foul, then we're going to keep playing". If he'd have said "Well Eades is out there not doing his job" or "Eades is terrible and shouldn't be out there", then I could see that becoming a problem.

To be fair, what would the Hawk fans in this thread do with their day if they didn't think they have to babysit Twins on here all day? He keeps the kids off the streets.

Exactly, it was never a big deal. Per usually Twins and some of his backers pretend it is something, when it was nothing.

You can't comment on officiating at all as a player or coach in the big boy leagues

I don't mind Dakich. I like listening to him call games. He knows his stuff and isn't afraid to call out guys.

That being said, I don't agree with him or anybody 100% of the time.

I'm not the one to ever defend Connor. He's probably a nice kid at heart but I know personally he's very arrogant and has gotten into a lot of situations dating back to high school with players of different teams and even his own teammates, but I don't see anything here that would warrant a suspension.

It's all about context though. He was describing a situation and never criticized the officials, rather explained why they played the way they did. If Iowa would've lost and he said there should have or shouldn't have been a foul called, then that's a whole different story. But he wasn't talking negatively about Eades or any of the other officials.
