.

I shorted 75 shares of Tesla yesterday and bought back at $840/share, leaving about $5,000 on the table. My dad says never complain about a win.

Does anyone follow a good stock market message board or stock picking website that gets into technical info and not just a free for all of people saying buy this or that stock?

Wow. 1500 point drop and not even a thread bump? Interesting level of complacency.

I'm not terribly active in this thread but I've been watching. I don't buy many individual stocks so I mainly spectate. I shuffled some things last year and have about 20% of my portfolio in cash.

I bought some index funds yesterday (about 20% of the 20%) and may do a similar purchase today.

I wouldn't go too quick. I see a potential bottom around 23,500. But this is shifting from a bull to bear in the short-medium term. Also lots of support in the DOW between 25,300 and 27,139.

And if this turns into the real deal then who knows. You could trigger a whole tsunami and see who's been swimming with no clothes.

I don't make any attempt to time the market - I normally have everything pumped in on a schedule and I rarely make trades. The only reason this money is sitting there is due to my shuffling and I figured I would let it sit until there was a good opportunity to do so. Seems like this is that opportunity. If it continues to go down, so be it.

Picked up a few shares of RCL on the cheap this morning. Dividend date is next week and once the Coronavirus is contained and the fear of it subsides, I look for it to get back to where it was a month ago.
