Refs were terrible today and Illinois is a good team and we made the plays to win. A great week considering we played 3 games in 7 days with 2 of them being against ranked teams.

We may be looking at a top 15 team tomorrow when the AP rankings are released.

Stop with this nonsense. Using officiating as a crutch is just as bad as blaming officiating on a loss. The Hawks aren't quite as good as we think they are, and they're not quite as bad as others think they are. The amount of parity in college basketball this year is ridiculous. I honestly would be surprised if an 8 or 9 seed wasn't in the elite 8 this year.

It is awful that Iowa didn't participate in the handshake line. Does this happen to anyone else in men's cbb? I swear I hear of it happening with mad Fran's group 3-4 times a season. I think he's just doing it to give Iowa some kind of a bad boys look and identity on the national scene.
Your take is weak!

You would or wouldn't be surprised?

For Iowa to make the second weekend I think they need to clamp down on the defense a little more. Say they're a 4 and a team like Creighton is a 5, that might make it really interesting.

I hope classy Fran was able to chase those cheating ************* down Hawkeye style.

I think around 15 sounds right. Seth Davis thinks were should be #11.

From what they showed on TV, he stayed fairly calm yesterday.

Fran has this team tough as nails. The way they close out games is impressive.

Very impressed that Fran kept his cool as the Illinois assistant coaches were swearing at him. Great call to get his players off the court before those Illinois assistant incited an incident.

I was just going to mention that I thought this troll had complained about the refs for the last 3-4 games. If you are getting the short end of the stick, you can blame your coach’s demeanor on that.

if you watch the handshake video, an Illinois assistant was pulling the two other assistants back when Fran went off and pulled his team. Had Fran just kept walking like most, Illinois would have just looked poor, instead Fran couldn’t be one upped in the doucher department and went over the top.

If that is calm, it shows why Connor is yelling at the refs after the game. I don’t know what the Macs are like but they don’t come across very well, even the mom when she pours water in a reporter.

Illinois was defending the in bounds and trying to foul. Connor passes over the top to Wieskamp, and he dunks. They were still playing, they weren't just giving up and they act like Joe isn't supposed to dunk it that he is supposed to wait for them to foul him. LOL, Illinois is being a baby about this.

This was with less than 30 seconds remaining. Then Iowa backed off and Illinois came down and hit a uncontested 3 pointer to cut the lead to 7 with 4 seconds left. Iowa in bounded to Connor where Illinois took a swipe at the ball.

if Illinois didn’t want Iowa to score again when we were up 8 with less than 30 seconds to go they should have simply backed off and we would have run out the lock. That isn’t what they did. So we score to go up 10 and then let them come down and hit an uncontested 3 with 4 seconds left leaving the final margin of 7. Then when the ball was inbounded to Connor to run off the last 4 seconds the Illinois player takes a swipe at the ball.

I don’t get why they were pissed.

I didn't really get it either. I mean sure if you back off and are just letting the clock run out, then yeah a guy dunks on you that is completely different. That isn't what Illinois was doing, they were trying to foul and extend the game.

Water on a reporter? Give me a verified report of that please.

Connor was walking to the handshake line and Eades engaged with him. He lost control of the game at the end. Connor's comments after the game were spot on.

So 2 Illinois assistant coaches have words for Fran when he was simply going through the handshake line and already shook Underwood's hand and you think it's Frans fault? LOL!!

You ISU fans are having a hard time with the success Iowa is having this year. It's legitimately clouding your judgement.
