Graham Couch: Iowa Basketball is a mid-major roster

Also what would be his best accomplishments then? Recruiting classes? Nope. Having a winning record against his rival? Nope. Winning a conference tournament? Not even close. Putting guys into the NBA? Nope. Making it to the second weekend in the NCAA Tournament? Nope.

One of his best accomplishments has 100% been winning at Hilton this year. It's something that hadn't been done in 18 years at Iowa.

He has won multiple games on the road against Top 5 teams. Winning in Hilton against a Prohm led ISU team is way down on his list of big wins.

And the conference tourney is pretty much worthless unless you need the auto bid.

Fran and Iowa have won some big games in the last 10 years but look at how Bohannon talks about beating Iowa State. He literally left his shoes on our damn court. I don't think he's going to do that at Wisconsin next year.. And you absolutely love bringing that up about Prohm.. So Fran has what.. 3 NCAA tournament wins out of 10 years with his own guys?

Yes, 3 NCAA tourney wins for Fran which is 3 more than Prohm has without Hoiberg's roster.

I wouldn't say worthless. Your seed can change a couple of lines depending on how you fare in the conference tourney.

I'm not saying that those wins against those teams aren't big but Fran literally did something that has not been done in forever! There were kids playing for Iowa that had literally never seen Iowa win in Hilton in their entire lives but you're downplaying it because Prohm is the coach.

I dont think any conference tourney title is going to impact the seed 2 full lines.
We were looking at getting an 8 seed last year, we got a 6 because we won the conference tournament. Didn't matter in the grand scheme of things but it did move us up a bit.

So what you're trying to say is that Prohm is currently in his third year with Iowa State because the first two years did not count?

Link to the selection committee saying ISU would have been an 8?

It wasn't the selection committee who was saying it. Bracketologists were saying we were a 7-8 seed before the Big 12 Tournament. Some people thought we could've gotten a 5 seed after the tournament, but ultimately got a 6th seed. Beating 3 solid teams in 3 days can definitely help out your seed.

Bracketologists? Ok.

I'd even donate some money to sign Prohm to a long term extension.
I think a lot of Hawk fans would be open to that. Amazing how isu’s on field disappointments have affected CyTwins. He is left trying to troll how isu fans and admins love Prohm.

How many days until isu cross country starts up again?
