At this point, wouldn't you just rather try something else? What they are doing now isn't working. Can't hurt to give him a shot over Nixon. Maybe he only plays well when I watch, but it seems like he can score if given the chance and has a nice three point shot.
Wrong, most Iowa fans thought this was a 15 win team at best. I predicted a 10 win season. This is a gravy year and If they fade, it is because they simply ran out of gas. It is not like we started the season as a top 25 team. Heck, Iowa fans did not think we would even make the NIT or CBI.
Is Nixon a lock down defender? Because if he's not it seems like Lewis would likely provide more offense. Nixon is a dreadfully bad 3 point shooter (23.5%) but he is averaging 5 attempts per game. Lewis will be on the team next year and it's not like ISU is competing for a conference championship this season. Might as well give Lewis more time and see what he can do with it.
Nixon is a good defender yes.
FWIW CF favorite Nick Graham on his podcast on here basically said Lewis' defensive woes was the main reason we lost the Florida A&M game
Bolton isn't a much better shooter than Nixon on the season and he shoots more than 5 3's per game. At least Nixon plays defense. Lewis shoots a higher % than both of those guys.
Nice pub for Iowa and Garza in that article. Top 5 at this point in the season is very impressive.
Neither Bolton or Nixon are good on defense. They are average defenders on a bad defensive team.
Nixon is pretty good on D. But his offense numbers are a joke.
