Its not like Iowa has a track record with walk on safeties or anything.
I was pleased with his play last year.

Not saying he was a stud or anything, but Koerner was very solid all the way around last year. Definitely not a weak link by any means last year.
Belton will be a stud very soon. Took over in Hookers spot and played very well and should hopefully progress soonerSo you didn't replace Hooker with a stud? Got it
I'm willing to defer to Phil Parker. He seems to have a decent track record. So you didn't replace Hooker with a stud? Got it
Let's consider that the Hawks have more alumni playing in NFL secondaries than most colleges have in the league. So you didn't replace Hooker with a stud? Got it

Has Purdy thanked Koerner yet for batting the pass down and refusing to stick him with that INT?
Why not? I thought Iowa was thin in the secondary that game
Didn't need him.Why not? I thought Iowa was thin in the secondary that game
At corner we were. Koerner and Stone played the entire game at the 2 safety spots which is Belton's natural position. The last 1/3 of the year he played a lot and was at the Cash position.
We were missing Hankins, Brents and Moss at CB which forced us to start DJ Johnson at one of the CB spots opposite Ojemudia.
Gotcha. Yeah that CB spot opposite of Ojemudia was rough all year long
Not all year, Hankins played well once he finally got healthy.

Didn't know he was hurt. My bad
You responded to my above post so I assumed you read it.
Sorry I meant I didn't know he was still hurt in late October when he got benched for that Ankeny kid that sucks. My bad
ISU fans thought Anthony Johnson had a good year and Hankins had 2 less tackles, 2 more INT's and 3 fewer passes defensed than Johnson while playing 3 less games.
