All Iowa Football Team---Post Bowl Edition

LOL, no. They did recover an onside kick, as they didn't want to kick to ISM, as they didn't have the speed to contain him.

They recovered the onside kick, Slovis comes in, and they had a chance to take the lead on that drive, but that's when Slovis gets injured. Everything turned right there.

And they didn't do the onside kick because they were afraid of ISM. It's called strategy, and it worked. If they were so afraid of ISM, why didn't they onside kick it all night then?

Name two teams that were luckier and caught more breaks than Baylor and Iowa. I'll hang up and listen

This is how it went down from an article on the game the following day.....

" During the start of the third quarter the Trojans showed signs of life. Slovis threw a 55 yard pass to Amon-Ra St. Brown gave some momentum to USC. A couple players later Stephen Carr rushed for a two yard score to cut the lead to 24-28. The ensuing kickoff saw the Trojans recover an onside kick which gave USC all the momentum. However, USC couldn't capitalize on the opportunity given to them and lose their quarterback all in the same drive. Hawkeyes junior defensive end A.J. Epenesa sacked Slovis causing him to fumble. Trojans tackle Austin Jackson would recover the fumble but Slovis would leave the game with a sprained elbow and wrist. Matt Fink would finish the game in place of the injured Slovis."

So don't make stuff up. USC had all the momentum and a chance to take the lead when Slovis went down. And it says here he had a sprained elbow and wrist, which is correct because it happened when he tried to throw but Epenesa pulled Slovis arm back on the strip.

Epenesa made the play, so you have to give him credit, but the game turned on that play no question. Had Slovis not been injured and forced to leave the game, and USC had taken the lead there, I think it's a ball game right down to the end.

Like I said, it's tough to win with your 3rd string QB.

Wow sounds like USC was the favorite to win at that point if their QB doesn't get hurt. Crazy!

Even after having a huge play, getting an onside kick, and with Slovis in the game, the were behind. In the span of dropping back to pass 3 times, Slovis probably got concussed and then got his elbow injured.

If you are trying to say that a probably concussed Slovis with an injured elbow would have kept it close, you are crazy.

You need some psychological help.

You can admit when you're team made a dirty play that cost the other team a victory. If roles were reversed I'd do the same. I remember when we beat Creighton in basketball at Wells Fargo they got completely hosed. It wasn't anything dirty by us (not the ISU way) but we definitely got lucky to win
