I'm sorry but this is absurd. I think this site is as fanatical as you will see, and even on here I don't think the response has been "ugly". I haven't seen anything frankly that I'd consider ******* behavior. To my eye, it's been a very well reasoned discussion with valid points on both sides of the equation. There are arguments for and against whether Steve is doing a good job.

But get out of here with this nonsense like this whole thing has gotten "ugly".

The guy makes over 2 million dollars a year, I don't think he's beyond a little criticism. But I haven't seen anywhere that it has become nasty or personal.

Well you and I see things differently. It's been very ugly. But if you think the reaction on this board has been level headed and great then you probably think the 'fan' that yelled 'you suck' at senior day was justified.

I wish that Prohm would send out all of the emails he's received over the last 3 days. I'm guessing there are lots from people like you.

A $10 million pedestrian bridge. The big times. We made it.

Nobody is a bigger primadonna than jsb.

If you want Prohm to be fired at the end of the year, stop going to games and stop donating. But don't act like an *******. The louder and uglier you are about it makes it pretty easy to ignore you because no one in any power will take you seriously. Don't assume that you know more than the the actual professionals know.

I think Prohm is widely praised on this site because he seems to be a good man. But like another man who was generally highly thought of as a person, Paul Rhoads; Prohm can and will be fired for poor performance.

I don't assume to know more than the pros but do know that when the time came I thought McDermott and Rhoads should have gotten the hooks the seasons before they eventually did. I'm not going to be surprised if JP sharpens his time frame for Prohm.

Ok now I am curious. What have you seen that is "ugly"?

Not to mention, nothing on this board is actually meant for Steve Prohm's eyes. Or Jamie Pollard's for that matter. It's fans having discussions with other fans. If Pollard is ticked off that people on a message board are having a conversation about whether Prohm is doing a good job his skin may be a bit too thin.

A nice letter, but cherry picking the Big 12 tournament as some monumental accomplishment drives me nuts. They are fun and all but hardly an indicator of some kind of large scale success.

On the whole of CBB, it’s pretty minor, but those are surely highlights for the large groups of fans who get to be there for them.

Anything on a public forum is meant for the public. That is part of the problem - people thinking that what they say in public really doesn't matter. It does.

The Big 12 tournament winner gets an automatic bid to the NCAA tourney. Until that isn't the case, it is an important tournament.

And people wonder why Pollard had to write this letter...

Nobody yelled you suck. Prohm said something along the lines of the season didn't go the way we all hoped it would and the guy said, "You can say that again." I was really pissed about it when it happened and I've vehemently defended Prohm up until the last game. There's really no defense for that type of loss and it makes all the other issues we've had hard to overlook now. Say whatever makes you feel better about ******* fans but I'm just starting to see that they were right even if they were dicks about it. Steve is starting to look like another McD. Brings in plenty of talent but can't get them to consistently play together at a high level and can't handle the pressure and microscope he's under.

How many P5 teams win their conference tournament and receive a bid when they would not otherwise be in? Georgia did it a few years ago I remember. Every year we've won we were otherwise comfortably in the tournament. And in any given year, over 1/2 the Big 12 is probably comfortably in the tournament with or without a victory.

At an absolute minimum there are varying levels of importance to the tournament among the teams. Some have very little to gain, some have everything to gain. Some teams would probably value the rest going into the tournament.
