Pretty sure that was total yards given up. They were both nearly equal in both yards per game I think.

I've actually had a similar thought to how they break it down.. If we were 10-3 and better than the teams we played, would that mean our schedule was not as hard?

I'd think so. You'd be ranked higher, your opponents ranked lower. That would have to affect SOS.
