Yes. That loss was at the beginning of Fran's second season when he was still saddled with several Lickliter players and no noteworthy recruits of his own. Almost everyone on ISU's current roster is better than anyone on that Iowa team except maybe Gatens.

Cael was also demanding full upgrades to facilities and some other stuff I don’t remember. If he thinks 20k upgrades the whole wrestling facility he has never purchased a mat. Those alone were 15k each back then. We probably put a million in the full locker room, room, weight area and other related areas alone. Salary and incentives was to have doubled going to Penn state.

Maybe Prohm needs a 2.0 after his name like Kirk did after a 4 year .500 stretch.
Imagine how bad of a coach he would be if he missed the tourney 2 years in row! Awful! Especially if it was in his like his 7th and 8th year here. That would be the sign of a truly awful coach, you are right.

I don't think recruiting is Prhoms problem, but hopefully he sticks around long enough to find out if he can improve his results with the '20 class.
