And I always forget that Koerner decided to not intercept the pass Purdy put right on his numbers and instead just bat it down. Very heady and unselfish play. And of course, not* an interception for Purdy.
Gonzo, what is your take on Lazards play this year. Somebody posted some really dumb things a gonzo bloor posted on a different site. Hope that is not you because that was some really sad and dumb stuff.
Yeah that's me but I don't remember posting anything about Lazard in quite a while. He always had issues with the dropsies and I don't think CMC did him any favors in developing him. I've always wanted him to do well at the next level because I root for in-state kids. I think the success he's having this year is 100% earned by him. He should be making more $$$ and when his next contract comes up I think he will.
I'm usually not the one bringing in defensive rankings into the argument.. I'm just legitimizing Brock Purdy's statistics by saying he played 6 out of the 13 games against top-50 total defenses. If that makes me an idiot then so be it. Lol
And some could make the case that a lot of the Big 10's defenses were good because the offenses they were playing were at the JV level. It's however you want to spin the argument. Iowa's average offense of opponents in the Big 10 was ranked 79th.

Northwestern - 124
Illinois - 119
Purdue - 75
Michigan - 69
Penn State - 58
Nebraska - 56
Minnesota - 50
Wisconsin - 35
Iowa played two Big 10 teams that were in the top 50 for offense.
We played the 5th hardest schedule in the country. The things they try to do to discredit a talent like Purdy is sad
That’s some pretty crappy offense. Snooze fest to watch. Our D would have probably been top 5 in the nation if we had those teams.
Total defense completely disregards tempo though. I dont think its a good metric to use.
