Iowa Football Recruiting

My direct San Antonio flight for 2 with tickets was about $1200, the same as gas money and 2 tickets to the B12. Hotels, food, are all similar.
The point I'm making is that ISU fans show up repeatedly at it, much like Iowa has repeatedly gone to bowl games.

Where'd you fly out of?

Not going to the bowl game.
Oh, no I assuming you were going to S.A. for a vacation or something.
I tend to go up to Minneapolis or down to KC to get direct flights and make a night or two of that town as well. I find that Minneapolis has good fights heading West on Spirit or Air Alaska.

Ah. I thought for a second you found the only magical direct out of DSM. Yes, I've gotten good prices out of O'Hare as well, as much as the 5-6 hour drive sucks.

I’ve yet to find a direct flight out of ohare that would make up for the insane cost of parking, as well as the pain of driving there.

I got $200 round trip tix to Charleston for spring break. Parking at Pre-Flight right down the road only cost around $90 for the week. The drive to and fro is a pain, but overall a solid deal.

I'm not trying to sidetrack the thread that much, I'm just saying the 17 of 19 is pretty damn similar to expensive, long weekends in KC. So I dont think it would get "stale" for a lot of ISU fans like maybe hes alluding to is happening for him/Iowa fans.

Sorry, but you haven't spent 3 nights in KC 17 out of the last 19 years. Some of your trips are a day trip there and back.

Only one job in the Big Ten West better than Iowa State and he's not going to Wisconsin

God I hope Pollard is the next Wisconsin AD, I'd love to see him bring that Wisconsin football program down. I mean he could get the program to a 40% winning % just like he has done at ISU in no time.

It is like many things in life, until you experience it, you really don't know what you are talking about. I mean I was the world's greatest parent until I had kids, then I realized all my "theoretical parenting" doesn't always work like you think it will.

So you can speak on it all you want, your opinion means nothing having never experience it.
So because none of us have experienced being in Tampa on New Years Day playing an 8-5 SEC team, we can't have an opinion? Lol
