Sounds like he may get another shot again next week.

ESPN - Seahawks QB Matt Hasselbeck to have 2nd back evaluation

I was checking out the Seahawks board on seattletimes.com and aside from the usual complaining about him being too short, most Seahawk fans seem happy with him as their #2 QB. Some have even mentioned scrapping Hasselbeck for the whole season to let his back get better, and let Seneca take over. Of course, that's probably because they realize they suck and aren't going to the playoffs anyways...

The thing is, they are in the NFC West. That race is wide open. The Cards aren't that great and could blow it at any time.

The 49ers are in second place, after they just got destroyed by Seneca and the Seahawks.

Agreed with that, and they haven't even played Arizona yet so it is definitely wide open. That's the beauty of the NFC West, the Seahawks have won it every year since I first moved out there ('04) and I think they had won it the year before too because they played Green Bay in the playoffs (we want the ball and we're going to score!) Of course, in all years except the Super Bowl year, they weren't a very good team despite winning the NFC West, so they didn't have much playoff success. Definitely pulling for them and Seneca this year though!

I'm not sure beauty is the word I'd be using to describe the NFC West
