And boom goes the dynamite

So as a casual recruiting follower why should I be excited about a 3 star recruit rated just inside the top 400 with a couple offers from mid tier P5 programs? On paper this guy looks like the next future transfer to leave without impacting the program.
Has an offer from Auburn, don’t know if you were paying attention but they made it to the final 4 last year. Seton Hall currently ranked in the top 25 always makes the tournament. K-State, won our conference championship last year. The list goes on of teams that are always in the tournament. Go watch the kids video. He can shoot, pass, rebound, he’s long and is decently strong for being in high school. A lot to be excited for and can garantee he will receive a ratings boost.

Power 5? Is he a football recruit? No wonder Prohm sucks so hard, he can't even get recruits from the right sport!

I don't often use the dumb button, but made an exception on this one.

What's it like living in a world where you're looking for bad things to happen? Has to suck.

Foster will next Monday. Hard to believe prohm knows what he's doing ‍♂️

Also I think I read somewhere that he had a recent growth spurt of a couple inches in the last year that bumped him to a small forward potential, with guard skills. So he's getting noticed more lately as a late bloomer.

Now's your chance to go on record then. Is this a good or bad get? Can Prohm recruit or not?
I’m optimistic he’ll be a good get, but one would need to think quite poorly of ISU MBB to believe landing a three star is a rebuttal of anything. There are often better gets than there are recruiting battles won. Jackson is an example imo.

I know you’re a black/white guy that loves his outrage culture, but the question whether a basketball coach can recruit is to be answered every season.

Already sitting with two commitments from members of the 2020 class, Iowa State added another talented, versatile prospect on Tuesday. Three-star small forward Darlinstone Dubar gave his verbal commitment to the Cyclones following his official visit to the Big 12 program.

Dubar chose the Cyclones over Maryland, Notre Dame, Seton Hall and Wichita State. He stands over 6-foot-5 and is a fluid athlete that can make shots to the perimeter, but also convert around the basket. He possesses quality two-way tangibles that should create for an immediate contributor next year.

A native of the Charlotte, North Carolina area that is taking a prep year at Scotland Campus Sports (Pennsylvania), Dubar improved his stock this fall which saw a number of power conference programs enter into his recruitment.

The Cyclones have two scholarships to fill after this season and will likely see Tyrese Haliburton test the NBA waters. Dubar gives ISU a versatile wing that can play both spots off of the ball along the perimeter. Defensively, he has the chance to defend various positions and develop into a quality producer throughout his college career.

Dubar joins Jaden Walker and Dudley Blackwell, each three-star prospects, in creating a solid and versatile 2020 class entering the early signing period next week. They remain heavily involved for top in-state prospect and four-star center Xavier Foster.

I wonder what Notre Dame and Auburn have him measured at since they wanted him too
I’m guessing 6’6”, as the 6’6” reference was from an August update. Late growth guys are often good candidates for being undervalued.

Auburn, Notre Dame, Maryland etc are mid tier P5 programs?
Calling them mid-tier P5 programs isn’t egregiously wrong, but being at the top of that group will consistently get you to the tournament. It’s not a bad peer group.

The biggest thing is that consistently successful coaches offered Dubar.
