Remember that time I asked why a Nebraska program that was pathetic at defense would hire a head coach who sucked at coaching defense?
That was awesome.
Some members of the national media preseason were seriously talking about him being a Heisman contender. These members of the media need to stop living in the 90s as well. Nebraska as a program is no better than the Purdues, Texas Techs, and Missouris of the world
A big part of that is the ESPN big ten perma-boner.
Recruiting Florida kids to Orlando is also different than being the most remote and unpopulated region in a cold weather conference.
After today's laugher, the Boiler fans would say Nebby is behind the Purdue program. Yikes.
Nebraska paid over 6 million to a 19-19 Mike Riley to go away for an even more expensive Scott Frost to now be 8-13.
I’ll admit I was wrong about them, but their schedule was a total cake walk. It’s still surprising that they’ve managed to regress. Paul Rhoads last few teams probably still go bowling with that schedule.
Besides their national championships over 20 years ago, what can Nebraska even sell to recruits any more? They were a bad program 5 years ago, now it's a dumpster fire.
They also were lucky to beat a South Alabama team at home who is ranked lower than non scholarship San Diego.
Their schedule is easy, but I just didn't like what I saw from them last year. Next year's schedule is cake for the first half. If they drop a couple of them they're going to be in danger of not going bowling again.
I admit I was fooled off their ending last year. I just saw it as they took 9 win Northwestern to overtime on the road, nearly beat Ohio State in Columbus later on, beat Michigan State, and almost won at Kinnick at the end of the year. I though it looked like they were improving.
They've been below average now for 5 seasons. They fired Pelini who consistently won 8-9 games and have struggled with bowl eligibility since. It is glorious.
