In the Stands OSU Edition: Guy falling from upper deck

Not sure how or why the guy fell but he did fall and landed on 2 gals on the walk way behind the seats below. The ladies were both injured. One being carried of by others and one being taken out on a stretcher. The guy that fell appeared to have 2 leg breaks was taken out on a stretcher.

High quality post for your third post in 10+ years!

My seat was right beside the damn OSU band. They played between EVERY play and to the last second. They also played during the introduction of the kid captain where they tell what the kid selected has been through. They almost played through the military hero of the game. I wanted this one so badly because I wanted those aholes to go home unhappy.

Why in the world do opposing bands travel to away games?? I'll never understand it?

Most of the time you've got both teams' bands trying to play over one another during the game and it just gives you a headache.

Oh..... and btw.... did we rape and pillage members of their band too, like we supposedly did to the Iowa band.... although thus far nothing has come from that.

We’re 0-2 when visiting bands attend JTS games this year. Just sayin...

My question is isn’t the bottom railing wide enough? We don’t sit right behind it but I always see the concrete being fairly wide and then you have the ribbon. The only way I see it happening is if someone fell down the stairs but they have the much taller metal railings.

We actually had three competing bands there yesterday because of homecoming - the old farts band was in the southwest corner. And returning cheer squad members were in front of the northwest sections.
We also had a pretty cool flyover by a big honker. Someone said it was a C 130; it had the refueling umbilical extended. Waaaaay slower flyover than the jets do...more like a "stroll by". :D

Section 29 Row 13 had one of the most obnoxious visiting fans I’ve ever encountered. He routinely thought dropped ISU passes were fumbles, got annoyed with OSU’s QB when he didn’t throw past the first down marker on 1st and 2nd down, and thought the face mask against Akers was a “makeup call” for the PI against Akers that didn’t get called.

Him and his wife got in a little verbal altercation with an Iowa State fan after the second Purdy INT.

I’m convinced the visiting fans we always get at JTS are the worst kinds. 9 times out of 10 it seems like they are idiots

At least that means he wasn't in a fist fight, or an obnoxious drunk making a scene (presuming you would have noticed both of those things).

A little first-hand information here. First of all the guy was not drunk. He was standing up dancing to the music and just lost his balance. He was very fortunate and was taken to the hospital where he was released with relatively minor injuries. That’s the miracle part of this.

This is great news . I seen him go over and could not believe that he survived. He went over head first. Very lucky .
