NFL: Osemele vs the J-E-T-S

If a regular employer was caught messing with this stuff, they’d be in very hot water; if his allegations of stalling worker’s compensation are true.

KO definitely seems to be in the right here. Really, their doctor says he needs surgery, but he can wait until after the season. Terrible organization and of course KO wants to be healthy when he no longer has a guaranteed contract. Obviously he didn't play well enough with the injury to keep his starting position. Seems like the injury is effecting him, huh NY?

Tough situatoin. Kelechi's had a great career. Hope it ends well for him.

Most NFL careers don't. It's just kind of the nature of the beast. I hope he can come back and finish his career contributing to a winning team. But if this is the end of the line then he's had an excellent career. Got his big free agency payday, started for a Super Bowl winner, and earned All-Pro honors. Most guys would be happy to get even one of those three accomplishments out of their careers.

I'd say the bridge hasn't just been burned, but vaporized. Cap economics aside it's hard to imagine any circumstance where he'd return to a team that he has a pending grievance against.
I'd be willing to bet there are teams that will take a look at him knowing that his struggles are possibly linked to a shoulder injury and not being able to use one arm properly to block.

That's what happens when you were raised by females. The pre-draft concerns turned out to be true I guess.

Sure. His days as a full time starter might be over but if he's healthy and still wants to play you'd think someone will kick the tires and at least bring him to camp.

From ESPN.com:

New York Jets guard Kelechi Osemele, engaged in an injury dispute with the organization, didn't show up Friday to the team facility -- and it was deemed an unexcused absence by the Jets, a source said.

Osemele was in Boston to have surgery Friday to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder, according to his agent, Andrew Kessler. The procedure wasn't authorized by the Jets.

The players' association is supposedly backing him. He just went ahead and got his surgery done; I have to applaud him for that. Seems like his treatment by the Jets has been horrible.

I don't see this going well for the Jets. The NFL won't want to be seen as callous toward a player's health - you'd think the Jets organization wouldn't either, but frankly it doesn't surprise me.

Man, I was just thinking how awesome it would have been to have KO (Super Bowl Champ / Multi Year Pro Bowler) back in Jack Trice for the OSU game tomorrow.

One of my unique/fondest memories of ISTATE football was when he walked out with the other ISTATE captains for the overtime coin toss for the huge Oklahoma St. win/upset in 2011.

KO was in the zone and just straight up stone cold starring down the OSU captains during the overtime coin toss.

I’ll try to find some clips.
