That's right. Your guys wilt in the Texas heat. Maybe they'll be able to take a pop up tent on that trip.

Actually, it was a basement-dwelling hawkeye friend who told me to check out the 2024 schedule. He was excited beyond belief about Iowa’s chances at the national championship that year! (And FWIW, I live upstairs in an average home with my wonderful wife, but do venture down to our family room to watch sports sometimes! Still working on paying off the mortgage.)

Hmmm....being bowl eligible 17 of the last 18 years is mediocre? Winning 12, 8, 8 and 9 games the last 4 years is "mediocre"?

Don't want him to leave because as it stands now you guys don't hurt our strength of schedule and he's 0-4 against us. And believe it or not since the game must be played I'd much rather see it be a good and competitive rivalry game. As to why I think he won't. Very very few young coaches settle into their 1st major coaching job and stay long term (like 10 yrs or more). Maybe he's an exception but I'd gamble otherwise.
Which is also why JP panicked and went after Incarnate Word to fill your schedule out last season. At that point it looked like you were going to need the big W there to get bowl eligible.
