He got thrown around like a rag doll against Big 12 bigs. His overall game is really good, but his interior defense against bigs was extremely poor last year.
Solo was better than MJ last year in the few games he played even injured. MJ will be better at the 4 as bulky centers ate him up. Solo and Conditt both have higher ceilings then MJ. Doesn't mean MJ isn't a good and valuable player
I have been a big fan of Zion ever since I went and watched him play a high school game. He was playing out of position as a center, but the tallest guy on his team. Clearly was a solid outside shooter (based upon the high percentage of 3's he was making in warmups), but did not shot them in the game as it was not his role. He scored +/- 16 points of this teams 24 points in the first half then the opposite team focused on him and took him out of the game in the 2nd half (his team did not have a point guard that could get him the ball). But he was a total team player, no ego at all. Every time a teammate when to the floor, he immediately ran over the help them up. Was then and remain today excited to see him play as a Cyclones. Appears to be great representative for the Cyclones.
Two points isn't a run. That's what posters are getting mad at is when he calls a TO after a made basket.
I'm not talking about 2 points to stop a run.....I'll watch closer and see if what I'm referring to is a thing. Hope not.
Yep he does it after we score a basket to stop an opposing run. he clearly thinks that going in the huddle after a positive made basket is the way to regroup when we need to turn it around. Not many coaches do this so it’s very noticeable.

MJ is better offensively than both, and a tangibly better defender on PnR and on the perimeter. That’s pretty important. Doesn’t mean the other two aren’t good and valuable, but they are more niche players than Jacobson.
If Solo and Conditt are better than MJ our front court would be absolutely loaded this year. MJ has limitations athletically but he was really good last year. He way exceeded expectations.

We needed Solo bad against that offensive lineman from Ohio State.
I believe Solo if healthy would have controlled him enough to get the win in that game. Lard played decent in that game but couldn’t handle that guy.
I loved hearing Prohm talk about getting points from offensive rebounds as part of our plan for the season.
It’s a bad sign when Prohm says we aren’t shooting.
IIRC ISU took about 10 game minutes to start looking like they realized they were in the NCAA tournament which didn't help.
