Sophomore Class Offense

I watched the NFL draft somewhat closely for the first time in years this year and it seems to me they want WRs to be really short and fast. Just going by the measurements and times I saw from most WRs taken in the first four rounds.
Yep, all about getting in and out of breaks and catch the ball consistently. Cone drill is bigger than 40 now.

Hmmm, let's check some of the facts:
QBs NFL:
Drew Brees (all time most passing yards in NFL history) 6'1/4" 213#
Russell Wilson 5'11" 215#
Purdy: 6'1" 210#

WR NFL:
Tyrek Hill 5' 10" 185#
Mercole Hardeman 5' 10" 187#
Julian Edleman 5' 10" 198#
Tarique Milton - 5'10" 183#
There are only 3 shorter than 6'2". So yo think brock is as good as drew?

If including redshirt freshman, Shaw is going to be good. Mitchell has ability.

Just need the young OL to keep improving

I agree on Shaw as well. If he can become the next Lazard/Butler jump ball receiver were in business. Dont sleep on Scates either he will continue to get better and better. Scates' raw ability the best of the WR corps.

Purdy already starting to carve up some good defenses got me thinking about how good he could be as an upperclassmen. Six offensive starters from the current soph class:

Purdy
Lang
Kolar
Milton
Downing (RS FR)
Newell

Need a couple of playmakers on the perimiter to emerge and some holes to be filled on the offensive line.

Why just the offense? Defensively you have:
Young
Johnson
Rose
Vance
Peterson

with lots more getting snaps on the two deep

There is lots of talent on both sides of the ball. As it stands right now, ISU would return 13 of its top 15 tacklers with the outside chance that Bailey would redshirt and return as well. Crazy to think we have that much young talent spread out over so many classes.

Holy hell I didn't realize Lang was a sophomore... he's almost 23!
