Time to cut out our Busch Light love affair

I heard the DMR FB page had 175k likes before this story broke. Now down to about 134k in just over 12 hours. Can't imagine what their phone lines and email inboxes look like today either. Sounds like a good day to call in sick...

Can I unfollow the Register's Cyclone Insider page?

The register didn’t do anything wrong and the guy handled it perfectly. Only thing wrong that happened was Busch pulling support and people’s over the top reactions. Way bigger things going on in this world to actually be outraged by.

Ive seen this a few places, but dont know if it is confirmed. Did the Register reach out to both Busch and Venmo for comment on the tweets, which tipped them off? We know Busch cut ties at 2 PM, so they were somehow made aware before Carson went public with his appology.

No idea. But I do know that people dig through this stuff all the time and it was going to come out sooner or later. I imagine that is why he wasn’t mad at the register bc they gave him opportunity to clear things up. Before it came out and became a thing before he had a chance to respond.

Never had a subscription to DMR & don't drink AB products & never will. I will now go donate to Carson's VENMO (good for sticking with the deal).

I work a couple floors above their offices, and the majority of their floor has been dark all day. Looked like 1 meeting in one of their conference rooms earlier, but now it's all dark.

What business example from the past can you provide where it upset the vast, vast majority of its customer base and the company somehow came out better in the end?

Just trying to understand your point that this is somehow exactly want the Reggie wanted. I think you are too quickly dismissing the critical nature of subscribers in today's newspaper business model.

If I go through with cancelling my subscription, I'll probably just gravitate to other outlets while enjoying the monthly savings. News sources are a habit....and it can be broken.

The whole "any publicity is good publicity" and "there's no such thing as bad publicity" thing was embraced when companies just focused on selling "products" and long before anyone knew the importance of brand identity.

Go ask Elizabeth Holmes and Theranos if there's no such thing as bad publicity.
