ISU press conference about band situation

A large group of us should get together in Iowa City next year and walk on the outside of our band. You know there will be retaliation in the direction of our band and I'll be damned if there isn't anything to do about it.

I think we should just stick some body cameras on them. So we can see what actually happens.

And now the female is asking if this is a cultural problem?

FFS

It is becoming one, yes. I'm not sure on which side she was referring so I can't comment. But there are definitely bigger cultural issues changing that are coming out here.

I assume JP ends with this?

At least we finally have the actual allegations as from UI Marching Band
  1. A teaching assistant had beer thrown on them
  2. “Something” was thrown at the football team’s bus shortly after the game but not when any UI personnel were present. A windshield on the football team’s bus was cracked (nothing involving band here).
  3. The Hawkeye band director and the ISU facilities manager had a verbal altercation on the field after the game (I heard the ISU guy was upset that they were on the field and potentially causing damage to the turf).
  4. A UI band member tried to enter the Bergstrom facility through the ISU football team entrance and was denied, causing an confrontation with security.
  5. A member of the marching band was carrying a ladder and another member of the band was shoved and fell onto the ladder causing the person carrying the ladder broken ribs.
#5 is the most serious and could be said was completely accidental as the shoved member fell into the ladder causing injury to the person carrying the ladder. No impact to the member that was shoved. Nothing about sexual assault as all of the new reports keep alleging.

Thing about #5, Iowa State PD was able to track most of the whereabouts of that ladder with cameras and didn't see anything.

  2. “Something” was thrown at the football team’s bus shortly after the game but not when any UI personnel were present. A windshield on the football team’s bus was cracked (nothing involving band here). Shouldn't be doing this stuff
  3. The Hawkeye band director and the ISU facilities manager had a verbal altercation on the field after the game (I heard the ISU guy was upset that they were on the field and potentially causing damage to the turf). Stay off the field UofI band
  4. A UI band member tried to enter the Bergstrom facility through the ISU football team entrance and was denied, causing an confrontation with security. UofI band has absolutely no business in the Bergstrom
  5. A member of the marching band was carrying a ladder and another member of the band was shoved and fell onto the ladder causing the person carrying the ladder broken ribs. Video survelience does not show this
