the bears' new "playmakers" orton and forte?

i am not sold on either. we have seen similar performances out of past players recently, only for them to fall off (see grossman and A-train)

i think da bears need to draft these positions each year, especially since we dont really have formidable backups. i do not ever wish to see grossman play in a bears jersey again. kevin jones hasnt showed much, and wolfe is just another adrian peterson(bears) who is great for the bears on special teams, but is more of a 3rd down back.

also, could use some WR's. maybe a big name this year in the first round, except i see none that jump of of the page at me. percy harvin would be nice if he declares early, but he is injury prone. in two years, when maclin and crabtree come out, it would be nice to get either of them.

with all of this said, lloyd, forte, and orton are certainly reasons for excitement, but as a bears fan i have seen too many players have a good season here, and a good season there but not stay solid.

I think Turner better stop running the ball right up the middle with Forte. Start tossing the ball to him on the outside.

I think both are doing pretty good and have been really suprised by Orton. I had no idea he had the kind of arm strength he has been showing and the Bears are really looking good spreading the D out. I also REALLY like having Booker back.

As for the draft, the Bears are REALLY needing some line help, BADLY. I would love to see a stud tackle but if someone like Dez Bryant is available he might be hard to pass up.

Couldn't agree more. Orton has turned into what Grossman should have been. He really has been making good decisions too.

I'm taking a wait and see with Forte. I like what I have seen it Wolfe's limited touches.

If your looking for a good WR, Crabtree may be available after this year and maybe Maclin too. I know Crabtree has been out of high school for three years and I thought Maclin was too, but I'm not sure.

Orton has looked like a quality NFL QB the last several weeks. His decision making has been very good, he has shown he has an NFL arm, and he keeps getting better each week. Not much more you could ask for.

Orton has 1,669 yards, 10 TDs, 4 INTs, and a 91.4 rating on the season.

In the past 3 games he has 903 yards, 5 TDs, and 0 INTs. Those are solid numbes ANY QB would want.

i agree, but dont you remember when rex was playing this good? i guess i am scared into doubting. i guess orton has done it longer.

tom waddle made a good point on the radio the other day, he said you cant buy a current bears player's jersey anymore because you dont know if they will remain to produce or if they are going to fall off soon, and then you have a jersey from a dud. so he bought a ditka jersey, which is always a safe bet. same reason i bought a payton.

I agree about Rex...Orton still has a lot to prove but he is definitely on the right track. The main difference between Orton and Grossman is the decision making. Orton has never been prone to making really dumb mistakes over and over.

Remember, he won 10 games as a rookie starter. Won 3 out of 4 starts last year and while the team is only 4-3, he lead them on what should have been a game winning drive last week. And the Bears have had a 4th quarter lead in every game this season.

He has greatly exceeded my expectations so far.
